    Anyone else starting to get rust around the welds? Mine is only about 2 months old or so, but the welds are rusting. Doesn't look serious yet but concerned about future.

    Pretty crazy how I got instant responses when I was talking about buying one but now I'm asking a question and it's 2 months with no answer.

    Every weld point is developing rust and it's getting progressively worse. I love the bar. It's beastly as hell. But I'm concerned about the immediate rusting

    Actually I've been working with CCR (Chris the owner). Here's the deal. He's making a new one right now in black (up til now always been silver). Like all of his, they are NOT pre-drilled, however the Tacoma has five 6mm threaded holes at the front of the bed. The nice thing is that what's there can be used as a template for drilling.

    When the new one comes out, you'll see my 2017 with two new KTMs in the back, held down with his newest product.

    Any idea when it is expected? Is it a totally new product that is different than the ones he has out now, or one of those but made to fit the 2016 Tacoma?

    Hi Anton, I really don't know - and it's not specific to the Tacoma, but since it's not pre-drilled, it could easily be drilled where the 5 threaded holes are already in the bed. I did my homework and this is the most factory offering. He actually called me though and suggested I hold-off/cancel my order to get the new generation product. I appreciated that because his upgrades addressed the issues I had with the original. You'll want the tie-downs and cleat loops likely too.

    I'll reach out to him tomorrow and post an update.
