Well. I'm scared of breaking parts so I think I'm going no arb. I can install next weekend if that's the case. No waiting on arb.

Just out of curiosity, what parts are you afraid will break? I would have thought by now if somebody broke part of the four-wheel system it would have reared its head on this forum.

CV's. Who knows if I will. But it sounds common with an arb and my setup. I've never broken one though. I have broken a full float 60 before. But that's a different story. This is my first ifs truck.

I guess I'll put in my two cents, having owned a Tacoma with ARB'S front and rear. I never had a worry about breaking a cv. Only problem I had was I spread the yoke on the driveshaft. Easily fixed, and I still drove home fine.

I will say, there is no replacement for a full locker. Once you're locked and have low gears you'll be impressed. I had the 4.88 gears and 5 Speed. The slow speed and positive traction made climbing obstacles super easy. Going down steep hills was alot better too. The nice thing about the ARB is that when it's off, you never know you have it.

So long story short, I would get it.

i don't find an option for a TrueTrac LSD for the rear of my '17. i'm in a MT truck, so that's a 8.75 rear, right? i can only find that for a 8" rear. i know there are many MT's worldwide... is there literally no option for a LSD for the rear of a 3rd gen MT truck? anyone know anything?

in any wet i spin a rear wheel at half throttle and TC does nothing. i want an LSD in the rear for sure if i can find one. TrueTrac preferred.

it's happened two times at the same place which is an uphill paved stretch, kind of old residential road. half throttle or so, and just shy of when the direct injection kicks in, so low 3k rpm. i let it go as long as i was willing, but i ended up backing off the throttle myself both times. now that i think of it, each time was on a different set of tires since i just swapped wheels & tires. anyway, i just know how they feel to drive and want it in my truck yesterday. so far i haven't found one. i'm guessing there's more to the story.

Man, I'm lost on this thread. My $.02 is that TCS is good enough to stop me from having fun in a snowy parking lot. Disclaimer, my TRD-OR does not have crawl or MTS. My understanding of ATRAC is that it's like TCS for 4WD.
