A brief follow up on the Icon Stage-3 install on my 2017 TRD Off Road sitting on 265/75/R16 Toyo MT's.

Install was two weeks ago. Installed kit using the Icon factory settings. I gained approximately two additional inches of clearance overall.

My measurements from center of hub to bottom edge of fender well after install,

    Left & Right Front - 23 inches
    Left & Right Rear - 23 1/2 inches

Truck sits nice and level to my liking and the road feel is awesome! I've also taken it onto some forrest service roads and she rides fantastic!

Looks great. I am patiently waiting to lift my Tacoma.

Side note - where in WA are you located? I am in Sumner

It's got a cop motor, a 440-cubic-inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas.
those are 650lb springs right? looks like you are at or a little over max recommended preload. icon really needs to make all their springs at least an inch longer.

Lift wise I'm not sure. I'm still doing the research on what kits and what goal I want overall. Honestly a lift will be mostly for looks, but eventually I wish to go on more trails. Originally I was thinking 6", but after some research I'll stay in the 2-3"

That was exactly my thought as well regarding lift/height etc...ultimately decided to spend money on good suspension to get at least 2 inches additional clearance and obtain a level look. This is my daily commuter and I also plan on doing some minor off roading in the numerous forestry roads here in the PNW.

Same here - this is my daily. So far I have been happy with the oem setup, but of course I would like more. I haven't tested it much off road with oem setup, but at the same time I don't intend to push it much yet since I dropped a lot of moola on it and I want to baby it a little ha ha ha.

My goal is next summer to have it lifted and new wheels and tires so I have time to research kits out there

Thanks! Looks great in silver too. The extra rubber looks great under there.

Get any rub with that setup? Do you have spacers as well? If so would love to know how big you went with.

I have a very small amount of rubbing on the drivers side cab mount at full lock. I haven't done the cab mount chop yet so that should fix that issue once it's done.

I have 1.25 inch spridertrax spacers as well. So far they're working out good and LOOK good too. I'll probably ditch them though when I replace the wheels eventually.

I spent about two weeks on the 650# springs before moving up to the 700#. Driver side was fully maxed and still not level with the passenger side. They just don't hold the weight of the 3rd gen.

Preload is preload, changing the spring length doesn't affect that.

The reason they have a limit is so you don't over lift the front and put the CV, steering at excessive angles.

They actually claim spring binding at any more preload. The longer spring is 1 inch longer but has 1 inch less max preload, but it is heavier so also holds the weight better.

Were on the same page. I erased the part of my original post where I mentioned spring block height.

Yup, correct sir...650 lbs springs. I called Icon direct and explained your comment concern regarding preload and my exposed threads in the photo I posted. I also explained my install and provided my measurements before and after, including the measurement of the exposed threads on my coilovers after install, (left just under 2 inches exposed thread, right just over 1 1/2 inches exposed thread). I was advised that based on the info I provided, my stage-3 was properly installed and my coilovers were well within their recommended settings for my Tacoma...

Those guys at Icon are fantastic to speak with and have reaffirmed me on their product and customer service. Now...time for me to enjoy my ride!

Looks great. Why did you go straight to stage 3 vs 1/2?

Nice! I want to buy some Icons in the spring. I had them on my old 2nd gen PreRunner. It was such a dramatic difference in ride
    from the stock suspension.
