    Hi all,
Any info will be great. Have a 2017 TRD Sport DCSB, the ride is a little stiff and I feel every bump in the road mainly on rear end. Is there a better alternative to the leaf springs? Will this soften over time, I haven't hauled anything yet but do tow from time to time.

hated the ride in the sport. loved the truck. swapped out skimpy hitachi shocks for beefier bilstein 6112/5160 and its been amazing since. rode in a sport loaner and couldnt get rid of it quick enough. just swapping rears makes a huge difference for cheap

Tire pressure?? Mine was way too high from the dealer and seemed to bounce all over the place to the point of maybe being dangerous under the right circumstances. Lowered pressures closer to placard and it's much better but the TRD Sport is a stiffer ride.

I guess that is true. I forget the sports have a "sporty" suspension.

if by sporty you mean like a slammed civic with impossibly stiff springs and shocks that cannot handle the spring rate, then yes. it is sporty.

Will the Bilstein 6112/5160 have any affect on the truck when I tow?

I will try this out first, hope I don't start setting off the tpms! Thanks for the info.

they didnt lift the vehicle on the lowest setting is thats what you are asking. stability is a major part of towing so i cant imagine they would hurt any but i dont do much towing. the stock hitachi shocks are the worst shock ive handled and im a parts guy with some pretty cheap chinese brands on the shelf

My door sticker says 29 PSI. I did take them to that just to test with no TPMS issues but generally keep 'em around 32.

Where are you located? If you are in an area that just got this cold snap...its gonna make things ride stiff. I have a Sport and must not know any better, it feels fine.

I noticed potholes a little more with my sport than in my old Suzuki Equator. I think the offroad with 16 inch rims and different shocks might have been a better choice for me. Sounds like Bilstein shocks may be in my future but there is no way I would lower my air pressure.

Sport rides like a wheelbarrow. TRD OR rides much smoother.

I'd keep an eye out for someone selling the TRD OR stuff and put it on. Mine rides great. But I'm also coming from my last 2 trucks being one ton duallys

    What is your air pressure?

I have a SR5 with 18" rims at about 32-33 psi and it rides pretty good like that. I think it actually calls for like around 28 psi.

feel like we need to get together in a group and pass around one of my hitachi shock takeoffs. nobody will blame air pressure or tire sidewall after that. literally junk. take 10 minutes and pull one off your truck and see how smooth it works in your hands. then imagine a gazillion times more force on it while its on your truck. obvious where the issue is. ive had defective kyb with dead spots move more smoothly than that sorry excuse for a shock absorber
