    I have a 14" shorty antenna that I got at Advance Auto Parts for under $10. AM reception is about 90% of what it was with the stock antenna. (I listen to NASCAR radio coverage on AM) FM is great, but can fade just a tic sooner as I get far out of town. Normally FM will fade slowly with the longer stock antenna. Once reception is starting to go away, I either switch stations or listen to CD's....With the shorty antenna, once reception starts to fade, it fades just a bit quicker. All things equal, I'm fine with the short antenna. Then I put a 4' CB antenna on the truck......:anonymous:
