It may not be technically great, but it's all I have this week. I call it "no mama I'd never knock down the tree"

Winner winner chicken dinner! Haha. That's a good ornament. Be better if it still had whiskey in it. I'm a simpleton and prefer my Jack tho.

Dress warm and be safe. My phone has been telling me that exposed skin freezes and frostbite occurs at -40 windchill in 10 minutes or less. And be careful of condensation with your camera!

Well it is quite a bit warmer tonight than last night so I decided to see what was going on at Silver Star Mountain Resort. Sunday night, lifts are closed, but where is everyone? In the pub getting warm, I would bet, and since it's snowing hard everyone is planning another great day in the powder. My little Olympus Tough tried it's best in tough conditions.

Thanks to everyone who participated this week!

Every photograph here brought back memories of one type or another to me, and put a smile on my face. Made me realize that although I and think many others try to learn how best to take pictures "technically" a good picture can tell a story, and bring out emotions including memories. Which in a large part pictures should do IMO. Well done to all!

I'm no good at critiquing and have learned a lot by those on here that are. So apologize for that. I like each one and for that I am not going to apologize.

Have to pick just one and for that am going to go with Gwen @My1stTac Great job, well done and congratulations! Send a PM to Murph (medic2230) on what you would like this weeks challenge to be. And Merry Christmas everyone!

Great Job mom. I actually think that the flash on the camera really helped sparkle up the picture :) only other thing would have been a tripod with a moon shot on the camera which would have given you a couple second exposure without flash. At least my tg3 does that. Great shot. Great win. looking forward to the challenge for this week.

    New challenge: The LITTLE things!
We have such a variety of people and locations, so let's make this wide open. (e.g.: frost patterns, snowflakes, babies, flowers, etc.)

One entry per person and due by this Sunday at Midnight. Photo must be taken from the time of this post. Good luck everyone and go!

Hey you already stole my idea damn it!! LOL must be great minds really do think alike ;)

I haven't setup for snow macros this year but need to. Supposed to get another storm later this week and was thinking it was time to get ready for it, temps have a lot to do with flake structure so it is hit or miss. Hard to find a better subject in the winter around here. Took hundreds of pics last year just to get this one keeper one night.

Murph is the macro master, wish I could get his technique down through the Vulcan mind melt half way across the country :)

That's beautiful. Mine was taken with the 18-55 lens that came with my nex6, with a 10 and 15mm (i think) lens spacers stacked.

I'd love to get an actual macro lens, but that works for now.

That's only if you bring it inside.

Supposed to keep the spare battery in your pocket at all times.
