I wonder how well they would hold up if sprayed with Line-x

Couldnt say but when you figure your tires throwing rocks at it every time you drive its hard for much to stand up to that much abuse over and over. Now throw driving down a dirt road in the mix and its nothing but sand blasting them.

It would be neat to see which lasts the longest having one side powder and the other line-x or whatever. I think overall with the salt covered winter roads the powder would be better, doesn't seem to chip into bigger pieces and when the rust bleeds down onto the powder its easy to clean/touch up since it doesn't have texture or pores

I just let mine take the abuse and honestly after the first 2 winters I'm over touching them up

That's what I figured by seeing other's. Just googled roll on liners and there's a relatively cheap brand http://www.monstaliner.com/ that has the shade I want.

I looked up the 4xinnovations, and that's probably who I'll go with. Let's me put more money down on other products quicker too. Rather spend $250 vs $500+ !

Thank you @ChandlerDOOM , @MO Tacoma , and @Sacrifice for all the input!

I agree with everyone who says take pictures of the profile you like to a local builder or just buy something cheap on sale from a TW vendor when it comes to sliders. As to finishing them I'd encourage you to rattle can them with a self etching primer and follow with a coat of paint. Easy to touch up and cheap.

If you want weld on sliders and don't have a welder you feel comfortable using then I do really suggest contacting Austin at Wolf-Fab.com. He's a fellow off-road enthusiast, has very reasonable rates, and is a very capable welder.

As to the next mod day, you are going to have to give me some time to get some personal stuff sorted out first as I'm at the hospital now so not really making any plans until I get home.

The pneumonia can really be a bitch when your body is already fighting so hard. Put my friend in the hospital at least 2 weeks out of every year.

Get some rest and I hope it clears up for you quick. And that you don't have to spend christmas in the hospital.

ahh that sucks man. If you got any free time over the holidays before spring semester starts we need to grab a beer. I still need to get back out to WolfFab at some point too. Kinda fell off the face of the Earth after moving down to Rolla.

@G.T. I picked up my fluid film cans today (a salty day too late I know).
Any tips you learned doing yours?
Aside from power wash the crap out of the truck underneath.
I'll be applying in the garage probably. Hoping it reaches 50* for a little bit in the coming days to do it outside.

We power washed and then let them dry so we wouldn't trap moisture underneath the film. One tip that @ChandlerDOOM taught me was to try to warm up the cans a bit as they spray better when warm. With that said I'd keep them in the house at room temperature until you are ready.

Yup and do your best to keep it off the exhaust, not that it does anything bad but the exhaust burns the fluid film and it can smell it in the car for a bit. But I spray everything not just the frame, any nuts and bolts that I don't want rust to take over

Getting released in about an hour. Don't feel as crappy as I did before but very ready to get home as I have heaps of stuff to do before the holiday.
