I have a brand new set of AC Delco Pros in the boxs waiting to go on. But there reboxed/relabeled 555's. There going back and getting OEM for the extra $100.00 is well spent insurance.

Been there done that. Luckily mine popped out pulling out of my driveway. They are ridiculously easy to change as long as you get the correct side. Ask my how i know

The 555 rebadged lbj's are the best of the available aftermarket parts. You'd likely be okay with those, but I understand wanting to have the best possible ball joint on such a critical component in this design.

    I got the joint off.
The whole thing was completely dry. The bottom of the ball part of the joint is worn so bad

The lower ball joints only spot to put a zerk is directly under the cv axle maybe could put a right angle one in there

Some of the aftermarket ball joints have a little plug you can screw out and screw a zerk in. ( pic for area )lower ball joint.jpg

    Late to the party!

Just FYI there is a neat little tool to grease parts that don't have a zerk fitting. It's a really thin needle (like the kind doctors would draw blood with) with a zerk fitting on the end. You push it through the boot (of a ball joint, tie rod end, etc.) and hook up your grease gun, and pump in grease until your soul is satisfied.

I've only used one a few times but it never left a gaping hole or tore the boot and caused a leak. Just an idea for all you guys without zerk fittings.
