you need to solder a resistor onto the dome light

 

That was cold . . . . but funny.

 

Finally got to tubing my front end to clear the fronts. Removed the fender flares to cut and was convinced to take them off for a while.

I'll get better pictures in the morning. But here's full bump before and after:

 

Did you have to cut into the firewall area at the bottom?

 

Or you could just wrap it around the ends of the bulb like I did...

 

My '92 4Runner has pretty decent seats. May look into getting another set and swapping them into the truck

 

My '94 LeBaron GTC had fantastic seats. Nearly everyone commented on how comfy they were. Had I thought ahead, I would have kept the seats before getting rid of it.

Nope, straight welded

 

My dome light doesn't dim. It just shuts off a few seconds after I shut my door or if I lock my truck. My LED works fine on the Dome light without a resistor too.

 

Dimming LEDs are available...I have them behind my climate control. Work fairly well but not as well as incandescent.

 

Yeah I have dimming LEDs behind my Instrument cluster & HVAC, ash tray, glove box, gear shift. But the dial that dims them, only dims lights in the dash area & above. Not the Map or Dome. Nor does it dim the Ash tray, gear shift or glove box. Same brand LEDs just different #'s.

 

Same with mine. I'm not sure of dimming lights in our trucks, I've only seen 4th gen 4runners with the dimming dome feature.

 

Doesnt actually dim with the knob. People are referring to the soft start/stop.

 

Bro, you gotta come out w/us over at TTORA next yr. - I miss seeing all the things that truck can do

Is this a plug and play? I thought our Gen 1s required rewire.

 

Yeah it's plug & play. I still don't have LEDs in my map lights, but I tested one and it works without issue. Dome light requires a resistor (on only some years apparently), but map lights had no issue for me.
