So now that it's starting to get a little chilly in the mornings I turned on my heater for the first time since I bought the truck. I noticed the heater does not blow air out of the vents. The AC and outside vented air does when I turn the knob up for more volume and that works properly. Is this normal or is a there some sort of solenoid controlled air gate that is not opening/closing to allow hot air to be directed into the cab? The defroster does the same thing it does not blow out onto the windshield.

I just want to know if your trucks do this too prior to me contacting the dealer and not having my vehicle. Thanks.

Mine blows heat and AC out of all the vents, windshield and feet areas. Take that puppy in to get looked at.

Alright, I figured it was a mechanical issue but wanted to be completely certain. Thanks for the reply.

In auto mode it generally blows hot air onto the feet. You can push the mode button to direct air elsewhere if desired.

Should be instructions in the owners manual on how to switch things around.

If those are being followed, warranty time.

The heater and defroster do not move air at all only the AC and vent. They blow just fine and I can increase the intensity with the knob. I'll take it in and see what's up.

Oh good lord, you have a little knobby there in the center on your auto climate control where you adjust where you want the air to blow, called mode. In auto mode heat blows on your feet and if for some ungodly reason you wanted to blow hot dry air all over your face because you're insane, you can change it manually.

You seriously gonna take some jack wagon's advice on taking in your truck because you aint pressed some buttons yet?

Wouldn't it be awesome if the trucks came with a little book that taught you how to use it? Someone should sell Toyota this idea.

And that little book should be mandatory, required reading before you're allowed to post on TacomaWorld.

So if you turn it to heat, crank the fan speed to high.. nothing happens? No noise or anything?

I will say.. it does delay moving any hot air until the engine is somewhat warm. It does this so the truck can get to running temperature quicker and so you aren't blowing cold air into the already cold cab.

But if you wait a while, crank it to high and fan speed to high.. you hear no air or fan running.. bring it in.

I tried them all and it doesn't work. It's probably something wrong with wiring somewhere. Lol I don't understand why people get all bent out of shape with posts.

Yea he got angry. I was just checking to make sure the delay on blowing hot air when it's cold wasn't messing you up

There's no need to try them all. There's only one button called mode, it's the center button and pressing it changes the display above it to indicate it's sending air to your feet, defrost, face, both, etc. If it blows on your face when using ac but not when the heat is on we are looking at a user error.

I read the manual BEFORE I bought the truck. Stupid dealers know jack shit about anything, why should I trust them about any features.
