You do a good job moderating, sanity is not my strong suit either
this is my 5th Toy. My Tundra just turned 180,000 on oil changes and a set of brushes in the alternator.

See OP, you have to appreciate the irony of having a mod here with a Jeep - we pretty much have to give him a hard time. Besides, if you search the TacomaWorld archives, his shenanigans will make you laugh. :)

OP, you will find that there have been many new members who were eviscerated on their first go round and many never returned. You have been graced with good moderation.
This forum is really "special" in its scope, as you will find if you search it out. Searching requires an investment in your time, but you will find good information and are less likely to be flamed asking a question that has already been covered ad nauseam.
Good luck and welcome to TW.

Let also keep in mind that there are people that might not know how to use the search feature on this site. Some need assistance in how to use the search features. If you had an idea of how many messages we address from folks that simply don't know how to use it, you would be surprised. Now.......ME, for example, I was born knowing everything about the interwebz. All of it. Even Snowdens stuff. However, some folks don't. We give bonus points for those who help teach new members how to navigate the site. :)

There are a few threads on this forum that cover that topic, if you could search them out you probably don't need to read them.

I might be game; it's not how I normally use it, nor do I think it is intended to be used this way.
From the speed-based shift schedules I posted previous, I assume the shift is somewhere near 60 mph; if not, well....

It's just that for the way it shifts (whatever speed/rpm it occurs at) it can't change midway through the power band. The 'manual' part of shifting must be predictable AND it has to be documented (somewhere) otherwise this is an unforeseen occurrence and Toyota will have to admit to that.
Thanks in advance if you check this for me!

I think the "S" mode is very disappointing. I have come to learn it is just for engine braking. This set up does not give me the control I was hoping for. If I'm in 4th gear in "S" mode, the transmission still shifts up and down automatically... I ABSOLUTELY HATE THIS!! The transmission should hold the gear. If I'm in 4th and floor it, it should hold the gear...but it shifts anyway. I can honestly say Toyota should have done more homework on this tranny. I love the truck....but the tranny gets on my nerves. I drove in heavy winds this week...finally just put it in 5th gear to stop the gear hunting.
