To lift it right/correctly anything over 3" (really about 2.75") is to much for the truck. You will put a lot of strain on drive components like your CVs especially....but this topic gets :deadhorse: It really depends on what you want to do with your truck as far as, is it lift for looks, function blah blah....don't want to bore you. This forum is full of threads on lifts...tires....."what to buy".....there are a bunch of us that have dumped waaaaay to much money into our rigs....the only words of wisdom I can give is research...research...research so you buy exactly what you want the first time...you already bought a Tacoma so your starting out in the right/only direction as far as trucks go:thumbsup:

Initially, yes. But I had my alignment guy push the caster out forward more and it clears 99% of the time. I have the CMC plates sitting in my room but I have to cut and weld that up soon just to make more space

shock relocations on 1st gens are so damn sick.

I think I have mines set at 3.5 caster. seems to have done the trick with 255/85's.

yup, but I think they didn't push it too far though... I wanna say it was around 2.8-3. I got another alignment when I moved back to Kona... well, didn't HAVE to, but they guys told me they'd align it for free since I waited months for my 255/85 ST Maxx set. I asked them to get everything to 0/0/3.5+ (toe/camber/caster), and they got super close.

0 Toe? How is that working out for you? Did your quick turn in response go down? Toe in increases turn in response...

how do you like the 255 85's? I'm considering those for my next set. i think i kinda like the look of the skinny tires.

Show me a photo of the tool and I have an equivalent for you...

Speaking of tools... Check out what your boy got today

hACKmans Customs Can now service tpms... Buy your wheels and sensors, I install the the sensors for you, you then pay the regular mount and balance fee with no extra charge from the tire shop for tpms. Check with me before you buy new sensors, I get deals on parts. I can also change bad sensors without dismounting the tire. I just break the bead, do my swap and reseat

I love mine, good combination of both worlds

I think the tool is a sleeve and washer with a nut/bolt setup...small bearing puller.

that looks like a fun tool, I have something similar and had a bitch of a time getting the software to install on my laptop.
