No I'm good I just figured by the way you were talking about it that you had it done.
Yeah I just prefer to do my own work since it will be "my rig" Rather than my wallets rig. But hey what do I know I'm just a broke 1st gen owner

once it gets back from the dealer fixing some rats eating my knock sensor wires its going for work. i am having my fabricator(friend) help me set up some way to fasten down shit in my bed better. i have thought about adding some d rings and bolting them down but the bed is just composite so I will prob not just bolt them to the bed, for fear they may just rip out if i hit something large enough. may adding a plate to the bottome to distrube the load across a larger surface area

I dont have it yet but soon. he is just getting started and had been doing them for a few months now. I am just in save mode right now. I often pay to have work done because i dont have a decent place to work on my rig. i like to have my space when i work on shit and my garage is being used other things right now. I am not trying to trash u doing ur own work as i can do mine i just choose not to at this moment. rest assured i still own it and i actually own my wallet too. thanks

prep is not as easy as taping. your forgetting sanding, cleaning, and priming if u want a quality job that adheres properly. do as u like i was just try to help with other options. The professional equipment is for professionals, stick with ur roller. if u check around im sure u will find his price is fair as he is new and setting competitive pricing to beat the locals who are established

no if it doesnt adhere it will never
it will keep peeling off thats poor prep work. thats why it comes off! his stuff cost that much because its not a little at home set up. its done for multiple cars every day all day. a set of barrels is like 6k. i dont know how many beds they get out of that but still its not so simple. they have a fucking warranty. yes u have to sand a little its proper bonding.

do it yourself job can be done great im sure but it needs great prep work and like 6 coats or more, because they spray atleast 6 on the bottom. im not saying it cant be done im just saying for 450 bucks they fuckn sand, clean, prime, rhino line, with a warranty.

Whether its line x or rhino liner the two properties are very simillar. I think they're both applied hot (not positive. Line x definitely is) but tis true the installer makes all the difference. Avg price for the procedure is 400-800 depending on upgrades such as uv protection, color matching, yadda. Best thing if you're going to go with a professionally applied liner is to inspect the installers spray booth and prep area. If the shop is messy and dirty find someone else. I've considered line x'ing my truck bed in the past. But then just went with the 100 ducket mat.

both companies use the same stuff. I asked about it.
line ex is franchise thats the diff thats why u get better quality supposedly with linex, because rhino line is no franchise u have guys doing inferior prep work and not adequate coats resulting in problems and damning the name. so with rhino u get a 50/50 chance depending on the persons character. linex has standards

yes they sprayed over the paint but its does peel off easier then if properly prepped. i do agree with that. i wheel with my friend and we watch it scratch off. touches up easy though thats the best part

Does anyone here ever run a flag on their vehicle when offroading in areas with many people?

@Kens04Taco had his flag on his truck throughout our entire Mojave trip. Also when the TW gang was in Pismo over summer we all had to have our flags on our trucks there

I know nothing about the robustness of bedliner on clear coat but my gut does tell me sanding is probably a good idea. The stuff has to stick to something, right? I've never painted a vehicle but I've painted plenty and well, I bloody hate it. Prep, prime, and paint was all I did my first year in the Navy before I got to do anything cool. Cheers. I'm sure your rhino liner and everyone else's method will come out great. As I always say "my build, my way." Respek to all.

When I did my own bed with Herculiner, the instructions strongly recommended sanding down the bed first and washing it in acetone. I did sand down the bed, but later that day I decided to do the bed rails too and didn't sand them because I was in a hurry to get it done before dark. 3 months later and the bed is holding up fine, but the liner on the bed rails is peeling off pretty bad. That's my experience anyhow.

the checklist in offroading tips is pretty good. I really like that someone took the time to make that and put that on here.
