I'm guessing you already know about New Braunsfels and Gruene. We are about to go to Big Bend State Park and they have kayak rentals, should be an interesting story after.

Yea, we did new braunfels this year and have been going there for a long time but now it seems a bit much like a frat party, I saw people breeding in public. We did the Frio the year before and it was way more laid back.

I haven't been in a while. We went to Inks Lake maybe four years ago, during a drought, good for running, mountain biking and I have a vague memory of a brook that would be fun to play in, but we took our kayaks, oh wait, inner tubes then, and had a blast on the lake. Canyon Lake is a great for camping or renting a house and have a boat/kayaks/bikes there are several camping grounds to choose from. I think my favorite was Pace Bend Park, there are some fun coves to explore via kayak.

However, if you do find yourself coming through San Antonio, the Barton Springs are family fun with the option of 73 degree spring water and a pool as well, I take my cousins when they want to go.

So it's been a while since I posted on here, and a couple of big things have happened in the past couple weeks! Wanted to share with you guys, so here goes...

Made it through the Christmas holiday great, as I hope all of you did too. But when I went to go back to work on the 28th, I got the oh so wonderful news that I was being fired after being with the company for over 12 years. Not the best welcome back ever, but a blessing in disguise, and here's why... as much as I love the people I worked with there, including my managers, I was burned out. I had been considering quitting for a while but never had the guts to take that step into the unknown, unsecured future myself. So it's been a bit of a liberating feeling for me!

Now for the good news... with all the extra free time I now have, I can finally go back to school! I am going to be going after my AA in Automotive Mechanics. Not exactly a common field of expertise for women, but somebody's gotta step up and show the boys how it's done! I am super excited about what the next few years have in store for me now, and my hubby and my dogs are already happy to have me home more for a while at least.

So that's more or less how my holidays went! Hope yours were all great too, and here's to a year of new beginnings in 2017! :D

ChicksDoItToo launched a youtube channel today! I will use video editing software in the future because the youtube channel stuff sucks but I was on my work PC and not my Mac so I was limited. Here is the video of the first stage of my sleeping platform.
