I know Bradley, and I think Rosario, but didnt work directly with them. When I was there it was Chief Meredith. My buddy Cannon was with 1/4 on the Syrian border in 07 and Chief Gallardo as well. I have a buddy still with 1st Marines, 1/1. Maybe one day Ill be back in Horno, but headed to Corpus Christi to shoot some x-rays.

What company were you with? Were you there for the Fallujah deployment or the Haditha deployment?

Kilo Co. The Helo company, the ones that smoked all those people in Haditha.

Come on brother... I dont think that last part was necessary... Yea I know Kilo... I was from a Helo Company as well. My Marines that already did 2 Iraq deployments and didnt want to extend their contract got sent to the first deploying unit, which happened to be Kilo 3/1 for the Haditha deployment. They did 3 Iraq deployments in a 4 year enlistment. Did you know Cpl. Arellano? He was one of them and he passed away from a VBIED at a checkpoint.

Whoa, very strong. Like I said before, my problem was that he tried to make him self sound better than everyone else on here and I didn;t like that. I didn't turn this into a Marine/ Army thing, you did. I also never dont brag about anything I've done, other than the fact that I was with 1/6. I think I'm done here unless you would like to argue with me more, but the issue is dead to me. I'm moving on.

Marines are definitely holding it down in this thread though. User123s pictures are serious.

Hopefully we can get back on track and start posting some more pictures... It's been great seeing everyone's deployment pics. It definitely brings back some great memories. Hopefully you guys post some more...
I really miss those days... I've never been closer to a group of guys in my life. I think its unfortunate that civilians will never get to experience that. I think its also why I always have an immediate connection with those that served. We all went through similar hardships and made the same sacrifice. Thank you guys for serving and I hope to see some more pics...

Whoa! Clearing mines??? No thank you!:D You must have b@lls of steel to do that job! I would honestly choose a gunfight over that any day of the week! I'm sure it has to be safer than that!

Actually User123, With the AN/PSS-14 mine detectors, clearing mines aint so bad...with GPR (ground penatrating radar) and the regular metal detection built in together, comes in handy very much...I was able to decipher what type of mine it was (antie-tank/antie-personal) and i was also able to tell if it was a can or a wire...pretty sweet equipment with a price tag of about $20,000.00 now that i have just put you guys to sleep with that little info. haha

this is the Buffalo, or Bonecrusher for you Transformer guys...Its a great peice of equipment and can take a good amount of explosives to disable it. love driving/operating this thing.

Stew Fri, which FOB were you out of? I was in Baghdad April 07 - April 08. 1CAV had MND-B for most of the deployment.

I was on Liberty under 2BCT 1ID. Saw a lot of 1CAV guys. Our AO was right next to 1/5s.

Indeed I am a Bradley guy but i spent most of my time as a Dismount but they were our main means of transport and what we used for anything and everything. They could take an IED pretty good and nothing like hearing the thump thump of the 25 :)

    Luni:
My first deployment I was out of FOB Warhorse. A pretty small base and you could walk from end to end in 15 min but it was getting a lot bigger as we were leaving. My unit was A. Co, Battalion 1-12, 3rd Brigade, 1 CD. We worked a lot with 5-20 striker guys out of Ft lewis. Good guys but felt bad since they drove strikers and not more heavily armored vehicles. My second deployment (dec 08 - nov09) was northern Iraq in Mosul with the same unit. Crazy urban place but nothing like baquba, my first tour.

    Tex4141:
Indeed I am in Midland. I am on terminal leave right now and my ETS date is Feb 20th from the active army. I'm from midland and I joined the national guard so Ill be doing that here in midland come march.

nice. I went to the Bradley Master Gunner Course down there in Benning so I am familiar. Now that is a hell of a course. dont think i will ever have any course that intense again. the only thing harder than that would probably be EOD school. glad to meet ya
