To blow it further.... mine is a 12 and I haven't experienced any problems.

You are definitely special but I think your truck is just normal.

This about ABS this way. It is only meant to control a slide/skid. It can only control a wheel locking up not the pressure applied. When a person brakes hard enough to require ABS they are already in a panic mode of high brake pressure. Each time that brake is released and re-applied it is at that high pressure and instantly locks the wheel up again. If the vehicle is not stopping fast, the general reaction is to press on the brake harder making the abs even less effective.

ABS was designed to keep the vehicle from losing directional control and prevent wheel lockup. Most folks can't perform or panic in braking situations rather then perform threshold braking.

My ABS works great as designed.

Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems that all mentions of ABS are for panic/emergency situations. For that, it probably works as intended on pavement.

My only experience with ABS on any vehicle is on the snow/ice, in which case I would rather not have it. It doesn't seem like low traction environments are its intended purpose. :notsure:

ABS was designed to prevent wheel lockup and maintain directional control. It will outperform that average person almost every time. Find one spot where you think the ABS hurt you, unplug your brake level sensor, drive that same spot in the same way, see what happens. Try and think about not expecting the 1st slide (when the ABS went off the 1st time). It really shows it's benefits on black ice, when your not expecting a slide
