In Dash Navigation Doesn't fit according to Crutchfield

Why does Crutchfield say that the Kenwood 7140, 9140, and Pioneer Avic Z-110BT do not fit in the Tacoma? I know there are members here that have these HU's.

 

I can't quote on those exact models, but I can say that Crutchfield may be saying that "they do not fit" because they do not carry kits for those models. I had a similar problem ordering 6x9 speakers for the front door of my access cab. The stock fronts are 6x9's so they should fit but my guess was that I was told they wouldn't because Crutchfield does not carry kits for them. I bought them anyway and got a kit from *********

 

When I do the "outfit my car", it says the Tacoma can accept a DD,E size HU. Then when I click DVD Navigation units, it show the AVIC-110BT as an option. Click on that for details and it says "This item fits".

Now, when I search for 6x9 speakers, Crutchfield says NONE fit. I believe they say this because of the depth of the speaker when installed, (since they haven't tested the speakers and the depths are different depending on the brand/type of speaker), they're just playing it safe by saying none fit. I know the 6x9 will fit, although the mounting depth must be less than 3.25 inches. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

 

It should all fit as long as it is a DD opening.

 

i have a kenwood dnx 7120..fits great!!!

 

I had my trucks info in, and it locked out the above mentioned HU's. I know it works as I've seen enough folks on here with them

 

call crutchfield and see what they say
