    Good old corporate business. I'll be mounting up a set of wheels and tires for our local DT because their corporate rules won't let them. Sure they can order the shit in but not mount it. Something about the rim not being wide enough or some garbage.

    It's coming down now at my house. Time to take the truck out soon to get a prime rib. At the rate I'm going, I should have asked them what the biggest one I can get it.

    We had a nice thaw a few days ago...that now turned our road to a sheet of ice. More snow on the way...I can deal with snow, compact snow/ice is crappy.

    @Tacoma.Gal @KelticAngel

    When you two get old, and sick of shoveling, buy snow blowers. I recommend 2 stage with electric start and self propelled. I have a 28" and it does great on 3-12" of snow. Haven't really tried it on anything less than that. I blow out pathways for my dogs in the yard and the horses in the pasture.

    If you intend on living in the city for awhile and only have a small area to blow out, a smaller single stage will do for clearing driveways, and will probably outperform what I have for 1-3" of snow in terms of clearing.

    How does it do on a gravel driveway? Does it pick up the gravel with it?

    We've been debating buying one, but we have a lot of damn driveway to do. May just save the money to get a blade for a 4wheeler, whenever we get around to getting a 4wheeler...

    We live in a housing development currently so nothing to big to shovel, driveway, walkway & a path to the hot tub out back.

    Purchasing a snowblower is what MAKES you old ;) shoveling keeps you young.

    Going to take a shot in the dark here, and guess that you have some basic tools, and knowledge on how to use them. The next trick is a slight mechanical inclination to get it going. Mine this year was a bitch to get started, even with electric start. I ended up replacing the spark plug, then it fired up.

    I've ran over gravel with no problem. There are depth guides on both sides that can be adjusted, but I haven't messed with them. It only throws gravel when I am moving the pile left by the plow when he picked up gravel in scraping.
    A snow blower is great, but a blade is definitely faster to move snow. Just know that is a a bit of a strain on the transmission. If you get really redneck, you can get a snow blower powered by the PTO on a tractor. I plan to get a tractor one day with front and rear PTO and get a front mount snow blower.
    The one I have is Ariens dual stage self propelled electric start 28". Watch for sales at end of season or even summer time. I got mine from Home Depot in summer time as a returned item, used probably once, normally $750, paid about $550 out the door with 1 year warranty.

    Back in my young days, when we hunted dinosaurs with pointy sticks for fun...
    Buying a snow blower is what makes me smarter than the young kids. I still split all my firewood with an axe, maul, sledge, and wedges. It was a bad day when I put my axe to a piece of maple and the axe bounced off. I have completed a Tough Mudder event each year for the past 5 years. I shovel shit regularly, for horses and goats. If you imply that being smarter instead of working harder makes me old, I'll take it, but I still get my fair share of manual labor at the whopping old age of 33.

    I commute from Caldwell to Ontario for work..normally drive my little Honda to save on gas but been driving the Tacoma a lot more as of late. Glad I drove it today! Heard the freeway is mostly clear but the side roads are a joke right now with more snow expected tonight.
