Thanks! Sold on Amazon and other places; good to know they hook it up there. I think I'll go with the Bolt kit, since it's AC instead of DC.

Yea I compared prices on their site and on Amazon and the site came out cheaper with the discount. I didn't wanna do the bolt series cuz it's just too much money for the 55w. I did both Blitz kits and they'd probably compare to the Bolt about the same. They say Bolt is brighter but I doubt that.

Any pics of them on. How's the output. I've never had a 55w kit. Always 35s. But 90% of my driving is at night now.

I have a set of 35w DDM Plus Kits in highs and lows and they work great. I've had probably a dozen kits from them in various vehicles and have had no issues with them. The only kits I've heard folks have issues with are 55w kits melting housings and causing issues. I'd personally stick with 35w kits, the light output is plenty sufficient IMO.

I also had a set from DDM in my T4R and they had a cleaner output than the Tacoma, must be something in the way the headlight is designed...T4R was a nice clean cutoff, Tacoma isn't quite as nice.

    35w kit in 2017 Tacoma...

So I've heard the whole 55w will melt the housings thing. Does anyone actually have 1st hand knowledge of this. Or just a story they heard? Seems like a tall tail

I have the 55W kit from Retro Solutions in my low beam housings and haven't had any issues with the housing. Light output is awesome as well.

I had the 55w in my 2010 Tacoma and the heat from the bulb created tiny little cracks in the housing.

I think I've narrowed my HID conversion kit down to DDM's kit. They have two flavors: (1) 35w with Premium Ultra Digital Ballast -or- (2) 35w with Premium Slim Ballast. There's a price difference of $20 between the two kits (on Amazon). I know I need the H11B bulb but am not sure what to make of the ballasts.

Driving home in the rain tonight made me miss the light output from my old tacoma with HIDs. I wish I could use LEDs but it sounds like the lens is not optimized for use with LED bulbs. Oh well, HID it is. Thoughts?

I went with the Diode Dynamics 5k kit and think it matches the LED DRLs perfectly. No bounce issues at all.

They haven't come in yet. I should be receiving them today and I'll have them installed by tonight or tomorrow.

LEDs cannot stand up against HIDs in a proper projector. Yes, LEDs look very bright, but the amount of usuable light for driver behind the wheel is far less. In a projector specifically designed for LEDs, they are better than throwing them in stock housings (I know morimoto should be releasing one soon). As for warm up times, OEM Denso ballasts take only take about 3 seconds to reach full output.

Did you opt for a wiring harness and did you find the 11B bulbs?

Here you go. Nothing but LED. Sorry for some of the fuzzy pics. I have the same bulbs in my Camry which uses a projection headlight with the same bulb as the new Tacoma. I took pics of the Tacoma because I'm on holidays in Florida and the cars up north but the output on the Camry is similar.

    High beam

Low beam. You can notice the bottom of the reflector has no light giving it a sharp cut off line.
