My last stick was my BMW. It was fine except in traffic and of course I lived in Quincy and commuted into Boston everyday

 

Gross.

2.75 hours of work and I finally got the headlight bulbs replaced on the Saturn. What a PITA that was. I've done some car repairs that have been downright annoying, but that's up there with the best of them.

 

Place has been open for a few years, still sending out Grand Opening menus.

 

It's like a furniture store that has been closing it's doors forever for the past 5 years

 

I've heard the food is good. But the constant grand opening signs and the fact they can't replace their sign with matching colors makes me wonder...

 

you had a 2015 trd pro in a stick??? which dealer did you trade it in to?

You already have a 15 in stick. Just upgrade your suspension.

 

When I worked at a shop we always dreaded getting a VW beetle with a burnt headlight. No easy way to replace it short of putting it on a lift, pulling a wheel, and removing the fender liner. The designs that manufacturers put into vehicles these days are just absurd for maintenance. It's the perfect example of the engineers not talking to the mechanics.

We call it "Form over function" in the business.

 

i know some of them you have to pull the battery out, and then pull the whole headlight housing out. i think they were built for production rather than maintenance.

most hondas you have to go in through the wheel well these days too

 

My friend was a mechanic for many yrs and said the problem is they're designed by someone at a desk in a suit who has no clue about anything else. Save a half-second or a penny on the line and it's great.

They figure "oh well the dealer makes more fixing it now" and maybe so for some but most will just take it to the independent or DIY

 

Just watch the NE buy/sell or Craigslist threads. You can get them pretty cheap usually.
