Before I get blasted for posting this thread, I realize that Tacomas come stock with a CAI. With that said, I'm looking at purchasing one purely for the sound. I don't really want an exhaust considering it's a V6. What brand would you guys recommend? I realize it's probably a toss up, but I'm just wanting to hear opinions.

I liked my Volant - only reason I don't have it anymore is because TRD quit making superchargers and fubarred my plans - nice and throaty even by itself

I second this. But I still have mine. Mine came with a dry filter too. Much better for dustier conditions, as it doesn't get clogged as fast as k&n oiled filters, and you can just knock out dust too.

Best sounding on the market is the urd.

The worst sounding (to anyone in the cabin) is the afe stage 2 si. Unless u have the blower, this stupid intake resonates so loud when passing, getting on the freeway, or doing anything above say 2500rpm, it sounds like ur glovebox is full of change and ur flying over whoops.

Seriously, this intake is stupid loud and raspy in the cabin unless supercharged.

    Its night and day then.

Its NOT loud at all when blown. Its one of the quietest ive heard on the blown tacomas and all u really hear is the whine of the blower.

Na, its not a "awesome engine here" scream even... its just resonance from the plastic.

So URD or AFE if I'm just a V6 4.0L without a supercharger?
