I am FAR from a lift expert but I also was curious and have been doing some research. It seems like Icon is pretty much top of the line but people seem to like the Old Man Emu lifts as well.

I read in a thread on here the OME kits void warranty because they're not specifically for the truck and the leafs don't hold the same weight and will droop quick. But I know nothing about this stuff that's why I'm here to learn and looking for the best option for my truck.

    Wrong. Ignore this.

Icon is far from top of the line. King and ADS is the top tier of suspension manufacturers.

Icon is like the Bilstein 5100 of performance coilovers. @jberry813

    That's also not true whatsoever.

Do some reading in the suspension subforum. A lot.

I stand corrected. Time for me to spend some long hours in the suspension subforum

    Time well spent.

Suspension is something everybody should have a full understanding of and not be steered into something from someone else.

    Nope.

    Moving on,

I would also add OME BP-51 to the top of the line list.

For modest budget I went with Toytec 2.0 with AAL and reservoirs out back.

    **Warning***
We are seeing posts in this thread recommending products for sale that are not listed by Manufacturers (Bilstien and Old Man Emu specifically) for the 2016 Tacoma.
Beware that using these incompatible parts will void your warranty from the manufacturers, in our testing OME coils did not provide the lift they do on models before 2016, these parts are not recommended for use by ARB/OME.

The factory coils on the 2016 Tacoma have a higher spring rate than any of the Old Man Emu coils (884, 885, and 886 specifically) listed for sale by some vendors here, therefore they will not give lift stated and will quickly sag and loose lift due to the lowerspring rate.

We recommend calling manufacturers if they do not list a specific part for the 2016 and newer Tacoma, do Not assume any parts will work, as stated they are not the same suspension!

Sorry meant to copy and paste on last response

All common knowledge. Though untrue.. the 888 coil is specifically designed for the 2016.

The 2016-2017 will lose an inch compared to the same lift of a previous model year truck.

I believe this was posted in the Toytec suspension sticky when the 3rd gen just came out. I think it is referring to people recommending parts from OME, Bilstein etc. that were made for the 05-15 Tacomas. Most brands now have suspension setups designed for the 16+ versions.

I never lift my trucks find them satisfactory height from Toyota. If any one wants to lift that's their business and their truck so they can do what they want. I am not every going to take the chance of getting a bad lift or taking the chance of voiding my warranty.
