Enough to make it a lot of fun!
I am not worried at all I have been been driving in snow since I could touch the gas pedal. I just thought I would throw my .02 out there. I also earned to drive in Chevy trucks and suburbans with abs so I know how it works and drove a 64' vw bug for 3 years in steamboat. So I am pretty safe to say I don't care if it snows and gets icy. Just get all the dip shits that can't drive in it off the road. :D

So I am seeing some distinct groups forming.

First there are those of us that have no issue driving with ABS or without it and have not had an underwear sucking situation with our ABS systems. Because of our strange resistance to underwear up our asses we must be "deplorable". :p

Then there is the group of people that despise the ABS for everything it is and require a "safety switch"(sort of like a safe space) to remove the evilness of ABS from their driving experience. :D

And then there is BDN.... he still has the callouses on his feet from his first car. It must have been tough braking the car with Fred Flintstone at the wheel. :bananadance:

    ABS aside...

Whats the consensus on new brake pads. Im at 33k, appears that I am at the wear indicator on the passenger side. Rotor does not seem gouged at all, theres still the groove visible in the middle of the pad on the outside, inside is barely visible but still 3/16"+ left of pad. The inside pad is worn 1/16th more than the outside pad.

I am not a fast to accelerate or stop driver... no racing to red lights like the masses. When I do brake hard, its going quick down the canyon, not in traffic. The rotors have randomly had a shimmy when going down passes... like the first time I go to use them, and I use them as little as possible when going downhill by leaving plenty of room in front of me.

Should I just have the rotors turned or get new blanks? And what pads to go along with them. Any place I should or shouldn't take the rotors to have them turned, I'd like to have them done the same day if possible and can drop them off off the truck to facilitate that.

Best way to turn the rotors is on the truck. To my knowledge only a Dealer does that. Reach out to @thefatkid for more on that.

With my weight I upgraded to Stop Tech slotted rotors and their hybrid pads. They have been great so far. Stopping power is much better.

I went with the power stop upgraded rotors and pads. I'm very happy compared to turned rotors and TRD pads

That is interesting that you need to replace your pads already. I am at 58000 and am on the stock pads and need to be changed now.

I wasn't going to stir the pot and say anything but I was over 60k before my first pad swap.

They looked great before I moved up here, I'm guessing using them going down the driveway when they are cold probably doesnt help their situation since I instantly noticed brake dust for the first time after moving up here. But...No choice unless i put it in 4low to drive down. I dont use them too much down the canyon regularly since I can typically make it down without hitting the gas or the brakes the whole way. Until I get stuck behind a slow poke.

I'm guessing the difference in price isn't much with upgrading vs having them turned and trying to schedule a time to have them done. Last time I checked the dealer, they were scheduling weeks out.

    Nasty brake dust....

Outside pad seems to be meaty, the inside pad is the one that is on the wear indicator. Unless something is stuck in there. But being that it's almost past the groove, I'm guessing it's the indicator.

Fairly certain... I swear that I mostly drive like a grandpa. I tried to follow @kashtyaatsi for two blocks and he nearly lost me with his speed racer driving.

Mine went 85k before the warp occurred, turned them and less than 10k later the warp returned. Pulled the new trd pads and original rotors. The pads are in my parking spot if you want to go grab them brandon

Better to ask what I have not done.
o_O I think you meant to say you almost drove into grandma??

Why we are on this subject, @thefatkid could my rear drums be so bad that its whats causing the poor stopping? The more and more i think about it the more its pointing to the rear axle.
