Pffffftttccchhhssshhh not my wife, I'll get home from work, I turn my music down outside of the neighborhood (unlike my neighbors, fuckheads) and she'll be wide awake when I crawl in to bed "Were you listening to that same CD again".....

Can you talk to my stupervisor? The shift runs so well when she's not here. Feels like the detention scene in the breakfast club when she is. Luckily we have a union that looks out for us...

Before I left my last job, I was the shift supervisor and had been for a few years. I knew how to keep morale up and mistakes down. Unfortunately,I seemed to have made a deal with the devil and the gra$$ isn't always greener.

Dude, right? The part that blows my mind is the SUPER PRO union guys that are 100% about "FUCK MANAGEMENT". Like, ok, I get it that Upper management that actually makes some of the retarded policies could be the ones we should be scowling at and pissed at...but treating the line supervisors like shit because they are technically management is retarded. And its usually the shitheads that laze around all day that are the loudest about it. I literally see shift supes just bite their tongues and nod 90% of the time when someone is groaning on about something stupid and it pisses me off. I guess I'm just used to the military and ranking systems, but here's my piece- treat them right and they treat you right. I try to be on the best terms possible with EVERYONE I work with and see day in and day out. Like it was said, treat them right and they treat you right. Because guess what, I'm gonna fuck up someday, and I'd rather have the shift supe who knows me on a first name basis and his wife brings us cookies and shit, cover my ass than the dude I just bad mouthed because of union BS.

    Ok TV;DR, /rant over.

I think you just summed up the opinion of 90% of the sup since work with, and about 60% of the ramp. The other 40% either don't care ore are those "fuck management" guys. At least the district union rep has his feet on the ground.

Haha yep. I just don't get it. I mean, I do understand there are a couple Supes that are bags of ass and will throw you under the bus in a heartbeat, and I worked with one of those, but the majority of them aren't. Example- One guy told me that another Supe and our Area manager had my name on their desk for being in trouble, so I should watch my ass, so obviously I went straight to the other Supe and asked what I was doing wrong. Initially I didn't dime out the other guy, but he straight up told me (as expected) If he had a problem with me, he would tell me (he's an old Navy guy like me, we don't play that backdoor shit). So when i told him who it was, he just nodded and said to basically not listen to the other guy as he was on his way out anyways (poor performance reviews). Not only that, but then our Area manager stayed late one day to pull me aside on night shift to let me know I was doing a great job and not doing anything wrong. THAT is how you build a good relationship with your subordinates IMHO. Other dude is basically in the red on his performance reviews and no one trusts him.

Trimmed it with the grievance mower Tuesday night. Big boss is not happy that sup changed protocol/SOP without consulting him or another regional first.

And yes, 4 1/2 to go till freedom!

4 and a half till freedom, mimosas, and family/presents! They'll just have to deal with my delirious self with no sleep, haha.

Except for the excessive snow, I'd rather have those Temps. It'd be nice to have a real winter + I live the cold.
