Sorry, I don't think I asked my question correctly. So if I get a bumper that ships bare (aluminum) which is better for the long run to coat it with?

I have never worked with Linex. Only powder coat. I would think that over time since linex is a non smooth surface dirt would collect in it the ridges and dull your overall finish. With PC you can still buff and wax it which I know you want for the mall. :D

    Plethora of "useless" shit
^ This - and if you insist on getting one of the two coatings you asked about, do powder because you can touch it up easy with rattle can.

So, My last company the engineers review for application both Powdercoat and LineX for off shore drilling (salt air and rough handling), Cost wise Powered coat is cheaper but watch LineX videos they did for Military. Engineers concluded LineX is the better product.

By the way there are various types of LineX these days and not just the bumpy bed liner original

You asked question correctly I have an aluminum front Pelfreybilt that's rattle canned, touched up a few times, once from an accident where someone backed into me, once after Moab RT. Bumpers been on the truck for 2-3 years
