Painted Rear Drums

Did a search and found some info/pics of painted calipers.....has anyone painted the rear drums? If so what color....any pictures?

I painted mine black and removed the center caps. Protects them from road grime and what not and looks a bit better with my black rims. Full color drums are a bit over the top imho

When the weather warms up, I plan to paint mine...Red.

 

what do you think...is red too flashy? i was thinking blue to match the trd shocks...

I've got a Silver truck and was thinking about red calipers and drums. After seeing it, I think I want something a bit more muted. Maybe black or silver.

What do you think about your red drums?

 

I was thinking you could probably get away with red on a red truck or blue on a blue truck. In fact, that might look sharp!

I'm not sure blue to match the blue shocks on a red or even silver truck would do it for me. Just saying...

 

Front calipers are getting a coat of red paint and the rear are getting black i think.

 

So I have a Speedway Blue double cab sport with black ProComp 7033 wheels, whats your suggestion for paint color on the calipers and drums?

How long will it be before someone brings up plastidip

 

I say plastidip the rotors, just "refresh" the coating at stop lights

 

Funny you would suggest that, I have been looking for High Temperature Plasti-Dip, no luck though, does anyone know where to find it????

Did you just sand and rattle can them?

 

When I did mine I used some vht caliper cleaner on them first (degreaser), then some vht primer, then black vht caliper paint. I went with black. I think you're supposed to heat them up to cure the paint. I just left them out in the sun on a hot day. Did it sometime last summer/fall and mine still look fine.
