Cap City Build & BS AF

So dumb question but has anyone figured out a way to lock down the bed mat? I'm afraid it could be stolen from the back of the bed.

There are some threads on this. I think some folks added another d-ring in the front to secure it. Makes cleaning debris a challenge though.

 

I'm planning on a Tonneau cover for hopefully after the holidays. Another reason to add to the pros side for the wife lol.

We have a lot of dumbasses who go around our neighborhood stealing random shit. They took some CDs from my neighbors truck and some other random shit. Thieves around here don't really make sense.

 

CD's makes plenty of sense, bed mat not at all.

 

There was a guy posting a few weeks ago that his was stolen so it does happen. I think it is rare though.

 

The first time I catch a thief in the act of breaking in my shit I'm going to have to use temporary insanity as a defense to beat the manslaughter charge.

Some kids broke into my truck two summers ago. It was the first week of summer and I left it unlocked overnight in the driveway. They went thru my console and all my crap was tossed in the back seat. There was bank statements, pay stubs, etc... a couple packs of cigs, and like 5 bucks in quarters that they left. Obviously not ID thieves. The only thing missing was my spring loaded Gerber knife. God damn kids.

 

Too bulky and limited application of use

 

A guy at work had 5 pieces of firewood taken from the back of his truck in the Walmart parking lot. He actually saw them throwing the last log into their car and then they took off. The tailgate was up so they had to be looking in the back of the truck.

 

See that makes sense. Firewood is useful to anyone, kinda like cd's. A tacoma bed mat is only useful to a select few. See what I'm saying? Gotta think like a criminal.

 

You can pawn anything. They won't give you much but $5 is a goldmine to a tweaker!

 

Lol true but I guess they could pawn it, sell it a few towns over on craigslist, or sell it on ebay or something if they really wanted to. I'm not sure why dumb thieves do dumb things but I'd rather protect from it as much as I can.
