I'm Matt and I am a noob. Question is this:

Installed a Rough Country 3" lift. Then I joined this forum and read from a ton of users that they are shite. While I do not go to malls, I will be doing Kindegarten wheeling (playing in the snow, playing in the mud, playing in the dirt) but not a ton of Political Protestor wheeling (throwing rocks, bombing mountains).

Need to know if I F*&@÷# up by having this installed, and if so what can I do to make it better and/or what I should aim to replace with.

Dont't hold back and savage memes are welcome.

    Thanks in advance,

    Your Faithful Noob

Don't freak out. Run with it for a while, if it falls short of your needs, upgrade.

    enough to go over stuff
Rough country spacer lift or actual lift? either way is probably one of the cheapest lifts out there. You get what you pay for. Rock it till it no longer works for you but some King, icon, fox coilovers with aftermarket UCAs and a new leaf pack in the rear with Matching king fox or icon shocks is probably the best way to go.

This is good advice. No need to upgrade unless the parts are falling short of your requirements.

No problem dude. Half of the posters on this site spend more time on the keyboard than in the dirt, and just parrot what they hear others say. Creates this artificial standard of what is necessary to go "offroad".

Not a bad thing, sounds like it can easily be removed if needed. Enjoy it for what it is and just start saving for a little bit. You could always look to meet some locals who have some coilovers and see if you can get a ride to feel their suspension. You might find for what you do, might end up being overkill to upgrade. As others said, off road can be a pretty open term and some never push their vehicles to their full potential. Everyone starts somewhere regardless man. I will say this though, I don't trust blocks in the rear.

Lots of guys running spacer lifts on here and just don't admit it.

    Including this truck..

Your uses don't require a ton of performance, so while a spacer lift might be the least ideal acceptable method - it obviously will work for you just fine. Upgrade later to your required need or desire, the sky is the limit when it comes to suspensions.

Until then, run what ya brung! :burnrubber:

A quality budget friendly option is a set of bilstein 5100's. There are vendors like Toytec and headstrong that offer them in built kits as well to keep it easy. There's also Old Man Emu (OME) that offers some excellent quality lift kits complete with new leaf springs rather than a block or add a leaf (AAL).
After that you're more in the realm of the coilover options (King, Icon, Fox, ADS...)

Thanks. I actually do a lot of work around those spots.

In the spring/summer I'm hoping to do the trail from Squamish through to Indian Arm
