I'm surprised you threw away the thousands of years of horse & buggy for a Tacoma.

    That's funny!
By the way, how tall are you and how much do you weigh? What's the towing capacity of your truck?

I think this ranks up there with "things that shouldn't really upset you too much"

Canada is a metric country like the whole rest of the world except you know who

I use both systems for different things

183cm/80kg/all the (metric) skanks I manage to pick up that night.

I get what you're trying to say. There are certain things (height/weight) that many people use imperial measurements for. Most of the time I do too, but not because I want to - when I do so, I do it because I don't want to bother converting units for the guy that inevitably asks "uhh... how much is that in lbs?," so I just give it to them in lbs to begin with.

Anything that doesn't involve dealing with other people, or when dealing with people that I know well - metric all the way.

    this is brilliant

aren't all the mods american anyways lol
    shoved down our throat?
more like we decided to go the route with the rest of the world.
rest of the world is metric.

most guys I work with don't like working with me anymore since if they ask for a measurement I usually give it in CM or MM
considering with pipe you need to multiply usually
its much easier multiply whole numbers in my head than it is to multiple fraction in my head.

Did you grow up with metric Joe?
I didn't. When I learned to drive, the speed limit was 50 mph and gas was 90 cents a gallon.
Three teaspoons in a tablespoon, 2 table spoons in a jiger and 2 jigers in an ounce. It may not be logical but I like it.

    wtf is a jiger?
its like when one of the old english guys I work with was telling me how they used to weigh in stones...

there's plenty that didn't grow up with metric and still have adopted it since its a better system.
I'm Italian background, didn't matter what was taught in school since I was always with my grandfather doing stuff around the house, he only used metric so that's all I learned how to use. honestly wasn't until I started working construction 9 years ago I started learning imperial when it came to length.

I've been a tool and die maker for 32 years and unless we were dealing with automotive, everything us still English units.
Stones are a Scottish unit of weight.

    haha
it just bugs me america is one of our largest trader partners and you guys can't just get with the rest of the world and use metric.
so majority of our shit is still imperial.
hate using 3/8 or 1/2 hardware.
rather use m10 or m12 etc.
