Has anybody get their rear swing outs coated? The guy powder coating mine is having an issue with the latch, says we should drill the rivet out and remove the rubber handle. Then I'd have to use a bolt and lock nut or castle nut to put it back together. Anyone else run into that?

That red rubber handle slides off. It's not easy tho. And bolts on the latch won't last long they wallow out

What do you think I should do? Should I find a rivet gun large enough to replace the existing rivet?

i think what Eddy's saying is if the red rubber part slides off then there is no reason to remove the latch...

10-4, but leaving the latch on will leave a bare spot at the pivot point. That's what the coater is saying anyway.

WTF is that god awful clemson orange thing in there

need to have some gap at the fenders, to allow for frame flex. I had mine as tight to the fenders as I could get it, and at Battery Park we were testing on a rock, and the bumper touched fender. lowered it a bit. some gap is good. Also, paint any bits black that are not black, in that gap line, before you put the bumper on, bolts, etc. they will blend in more better (yeah i said more better, it just seemed right)

Can you post a link? I can't find anything.

It's not really ocd, we're talking a 3" gap on my truck. Kinda over it now but a cover up would be nice

Lil lift, bumpers, SC, UCON, headers, etc.
I'm think about cutting the original bumper and using it has a filler. Not sure if it will work or not but maybe! It will mount back to the grill and other areas then extend 3" or so toward the grill. Might look awesome, idk. It would be like a lot of factory bumpers that have ths filler piece.

Mine has a bit of a gap on the front end and on the sides but I guess they're done that way for flexing purposes
