Thank you Mr. Booty Inspector, i was just sharing how Harbor Freight is an exceptional source for free tool usage for all of your wrench turning needs, including the wrenches. The company is shitty in the way its manages everything from inventory to personnel, and one thing they do that can be exploited is the 100% satisfaction return policy. There is no need to buy pretty much anything of value there. All you will be out is your time to drive to the store. I typically keep returns in the back of my truck for when im driving by the area of the store. No need to get condescending, just trying to save my fellow Tacoma owners some money that they could be keeping in their pocket.

    Agreed.

Also my HF torque wrench is dead nuts accurate, and was super cheap. If I built machinery for a living then there's no point not to enjoy a fine quality tool, but I have no concerns using it for lug nuts or assembling my small block Chevy.

Did a lot of research beforehand and HF was up there with the rest of them, and at a minimal price. Went with it (returns are easy), and wouldn't hesitate to do it again.

I don't think the rest of us are morally bankrupt and without self respect or principles.

But I'm sure those who are will appreciate the info.

Not condescending - I was just reading the writing on the wall. You are exactly who you painted yourself to be in the first post, what a shocker.

    Adios.

I've done this at estate sales. Buy a box of what look like junk tools for $10. Exchange broken tools to Sears, HF, Home Depot, Lowes, wherever the tool was sourced from. Being retired I needed a hobby!

First, I have to agree with DCBFTMFW and have to add, stealing is stealing, even if a company is poorly managed (I don't know if HF is or not). Taking something you didn't earn is always wrong, especially when those costs are handed down to paying customers.

Right, just how Harbor Freight is perpetually fighting class action suits for underpaying or under-providing benefits to its employees. What is wrong all depends on which side of the desk you are on. Though what i am offering is that you exploit this place to the limits of what their own policies provide.

How often do you REALLY need a 3/4" torque wrench for $120??? I can think of two wheel bearings, diff pinion and crank bolt on my BMW. Otherwise it would be a very expensive paperweight. Or a compound miter saw for building some shelving? Thats an awful large storage space thats being occupied for something that yore going to use for two days then sit for a year. Using something and returning it is not stealing. I dont know where that came from. Id rather have the free space and the cash in my pocket to spend on something American if im going to invest in a tool.

Harborfreight is great at showing how overpriced/marked up most things are. Granted some of their items arent the best, but for the most part, their tools are sometimes >50% cheaper to competition with the same or better specs.

I've seen those. I don't have the compressor strength for automotive air tools yet but certainly an option later on.

I have a bit of an interest in the DeWalt 20V impact but don't have much use for one, $200+ worth anyway.

I'm going to get a pair of material rollers when it's convenient and I remember to. $15, and I've never heard a bad thing about them. Cheap supports for cutting long boards on my miter saw.

When a person has a legitimate return is one thing, but what you are saying to do is stealing using your own words, "I have bought and returned compressors, air tools, presses, etc. within 48hrs, obviously using the shit out of them. Need to move? Buy some ramps and dollies, return them afterward. Buy a can of brake cleaner or a pack of sandpaper, use half of it, return it for a full refund. Going camping? Buy a pop-up canopy, then return it with the top torn up.

Its not rent a tool, ITS LOAN ME THE TOOL FOR FREE.

Are you saying using a half can of brake cleaner or sandpaper and returning the rest because "you can" isn't stealing??

Remember that some of those items you mentioned will not be resold, so it's 100% stealing and it's just sad there are people like you in our country that feels they are justified with no moral compass to do the right thing. :(

My 18v ridgid impact kinda sucks. No way it would loosen a lugnut, but it would make a hell of a lot of noise trying.

    I used a 20v DeWalt a week ago with a teeny tiny battery and it out-drilled my Ridgid 18v with a 4.0mah battery. :(

The 20V DeWalt is really an 18V, too. :(

Only Ridgid I have is a shopvac, and it's awesome.

This guy needs to have his IP address recorded and his address given to HF corporate, so the next time he orders his 50 ton dual speed industrial hydraulic shop press or steps into another HF, with his half used can of brake cleaner for a return, they will reject the return and hopefully charge him with being born without a conscious and moral compass.
