i mean im stuck out here in mooresville doing family shit through sunday. I work monday morning. so my plan is to leave early so i can get it from him.

 

Anybody ever had their gear shifter become non responsive? When I got in my truck I tried to crank it wouldnt turn over noticed it said reverse. Played around with it for a while pushed the button next to the gear shifter got it into neutral so it cranked. Now it wont budge out of neutral no matter where I put it.

 

I think I figured it out the cable that goes to the gear shifter isnt connected.



U can see it peeking thru that hole. Wonder if this is something they screwed up when they did my frame swap but its just loosening up now

May have been they didn't fully connect it and it came off.

 

When did you have your frame replaced ?

 

Yeh kinda weird. Is there anything that holds that cable onto the post that comes off the bottum of the shifter? I just slid it back on and it kinda pops into place but wondering if there is a cotter pin or anything that is supposed to keep it from popping off? Was about an hour late to work this morning messing with it but at least it was an easy fix. Just want to make sure its not gonna happen again.

 

I picked it up November 17th so about a montha ago.

 

I've never looked at it.

 

Found some others with the same issue on TW. They are saying there is a nut that goes on the end of the post that the shifter cable connects to. Gonna have to take it apart again and see if I can find that nut hopefully it just came loose and is hanging out down there somewhere.

 

I'd call the dealership and have them give you a credit or something.

 

That will be hard to prove to the dealership it was their fault.

 

If it was a dealership in Raleigh I'd take it up there and make them look at it. I kinda of went dealership shopping for this frame swap I had 0 trust in Leith after they dicked me around on the leaf spring recall. Danville Virginia Toyota is an hour and a half away from me so I'm not gonna drive 3 hours round trip for something this minor. As Mrbedgood said they could also give me the run around saying there is now way to tell it was something they did wrong. I dont see the nut after a quick inspection Im gonna have to take it apart a little further to get to the area where it would have fallen into.
