5100 all around vs. toytec ultimate lift?

planning on lifting but deciding which route to take. what advantages would i have going w/ the ultimate lift kit? i don't do any serious off-roading. i do make snowboarding trips up the mountain and that's pretty much it. can anyone make suggestions as to which direction i should go? thanks!

None IMO! Save yourself the $$$ and just get the billies. If you decide the ride is to stiff. Then you can always get some eibach coils to go with your bill's.

 

Here are some advantages.
If you go with just the bilsteins all the way around, in the front, you will maintain your stock coil. There is reason one. The stock front spring is not a very solid or long lasting spring. Especially when you going to pre-load that spring with your bilstein shock. Where as with the Ultimate kit, you get a new coil to replace yours, which will pretty much last the life of the truck. With the Ultimate kit you then have the freedom to have ANY EXACT lift height you want. You pick. Unlike the notch's on the shock alone. The Ultimate kit does come with a life time warranty also. With just the bilstein shocks in the rear, you won't get any lift. So this might be your determining factor. Do you want to lift the rear? If you do, then the bilstein shocks aren't going to do it. With the kit, you get a 2 inch lift in the rear. We do offer a 1.5 inch rear lift spring.

I think there are advantages with going with the Ultimate Kit vs. just the Bilstein shocks.

That adjustable collar sits on that c-clip on the shaft of the shock.

can you define/describe "stiff ride?" good or bad?
