Update on the moisture in the headlights at below freezing temps. After talking to the service manager sounds like Toyota switched to a vented system in their housing that in extreme temperatures might produce small amounts of moisture that should dissipate when warm or headlights on high beam. He said there shouldn't be actual drops but icicle like crystals are possible. The moisture went away as I park in a garage but will be keeping a close eye on them not understanding how if this becomes a regular thing cant create fading or a film but have 3 years/30,000 miles to see!

    I can afford Gas.
I have seen prices for $41K to $44K in Southern California. That does not mean you leave the dealer for that. If that was the case you would see a lot more trucks in my opinion. Cars.com and Carsguru.com are showing these prices. The same I saw when I got mine. Didn't mean I paid that.
Carsguru.com posts the inventory of all dealers. Its how I found mine. Six in and around OC. Red/White/Cement.

So I just got a trd pro (also first truck ever) Do you know if a 285/75/r16 BFG KO2 will be ok on an otherwise stock trd pro? You said it didn't rub on the UCA but what trimming did you have to make?. I have mudflaps, will I need to take those off? Thanks!

Oh of course. TTL in Corona/Riverside is 8.0% plus other fees. I calculated it to be about above 45k OTD for a base MT Pro at sticker.

Anyone who deosnt account for tax or insurance costs in a new vehicle is a fool.

Don't know how close these are in size, but I'm running 285/70/17's. I did have to do some very minor trimming, but yes you'll need to take off the mud flaps.

Bray is going to have better info on that size than I will. I see he already posted.

Even though my tire is taller, it's the width that will be your biggest concern. Sorry I can't help more.

Edited to add: I didn't have mudflaps to start with and surprisingly I did not have to trim the liners at all. I haven't fully stuffed it, but I have flexed it significantly and I've have no rubbing at all, front or backwards, with full turns.

    Shopping for TRD Pro
I’m not sure about this - I’m in San Francisco and with a 500 mile search on cars.com, autotrader etc, I would see only a few (usually in red) and with markup. I finally found a Cement AT in Oregon and have deposit and it’s currently getting built with a price tag of 44k. It has only a couple of additional options like all-weather floor-mats and mud flaps.
I”m second guessing my choice of AT as I’ve had MT Toyotas in the past and loved driving them. But I’ve been in a AT car recently and living in SF, I think bumper to bumper traffic, commute, texting(kidding...sort of), eating a burrito etc would just be easier w/ AT. I did get a chance to test drive a AT and found it acceptable (not great, but not bad). It was at a local dealer in SF who had bought it “used” from another dealer and marked it up to 54k.
So back to my question ..is the market getting saturated and there are Cement AT all over the place for MSRP?
Also - am I just being neurotic for second guessing having a AT reserved? // maybe opening up an conversation for my shrink on that one :)

I traded my 14 Baja SC 6-sp man for my Cement Pro A/T.....I have had mine for almost 3 months and am loving it. The auto tranny is doing fine, and I was a little scared to get a A/T like a lot of guys. With you living out in Cali with all the traffic, etc, it's prob is a good idea, as well as for other reasons. As for the saturation of Cement Pro's, from what I have seen most of the initial Pro's built were Cement, and now when I run a search there are not very many around....There might be more out in Cali, but the white and red are much more plentiful from what I see. The M/T Pro's are very rare either way. They are just not making very many.

I believe that only 5% of all Tacomas being made are MT. If I do a nationwide search on cars.com for Tacoma PROs, first with all transmissions showing and then choosing AT only, I show about 16% of the advertised trucks are MT. There are some places in the country where they seem to be priced below MSRP and people are getting good deals and other places where dealers aren't budging. Considering the prices out there in CA, you might consider even having one shipped to you from another dealer who's willing to come down on the price. If I lived where you are I would get the AT without a doubt. We lived in NYC for a while and I owned a MT subaru... never again!

There's quite a few AT here in socal for a decent price. I was at long yesterday and they had a white AT in the back that I sat in but they aren't taking any more orders for them.. Only 2018 now. Several around anaheim and la in general but probably less than 3 MT pros and less than a dozen MT v6 within a few hundred miles.

BTW sorry to whoever ordered a white AT trd pro at longo... I started it and sat in it before you :p.
