There is a difference in being an ahole and humorous trolling, but for the most part, at that point, other members step in.

Most these threads, the question gets answered and then the trolls come out :spy:

I am finding out on this site you can't open your mouth without someone sticking your foot in it. I have found that I will go elsewhere for help. It is possible to help people without telling them how stupid they are. You do not need to put others down to make yourself seem smarter. You are smart believe me. By the way I have had heated mirrors before, but never had to turn them on, they were always on I guess.

Dave, stick around- learning curve at TW but really worth it IMO. If you plan on keeping the truck for awhile, the benefits increase as more members add their knowledge.

No reason to go anywhere else. It's a web forum this is how things go. I started a thread for something as stupid as my windshield squirters weren't aimed properly. I search everything before posting didn't find anything. I posted and got hella flamed but I found others that had a similar problem. Just part of the game.

This is why I built a Tips & Tricks thread, for folks that want answers on things without having to get hounded by the immaturity of other members. It doesn't have much on this particular topic simply because it is in the manual and my thread assumes you either read the manual or have had a modern vehicle. For folks that keep their vehicles 10 years+, then I could see how something like this might crop up. However, a read of the manual is always advisable. If you have questions about stuff feel free to shoot me a PM if you don't want to make a thread on it. I will do what I can to help you.

I make darn sure I turn mine off once the mirrors are clear. Don't know if you can burn those little jewels up but I'm taking no chances as I like them that much.

The "ignore" list is your friend. Just click on a persons name and a pop up box opens. Click on the "ignore" and the a-hole is vaporized forever and ever. I hit the refresh button on my browser after adding them to my ignore list that way It clears them off the pages like right now. I go back to my list every now and then and hit the "un-ignore" button just to see if they have changed. If not I send them back under the bridge with the rest of the trolls.

I am also a new member to TW and an avid reader of the owner's manual, but am far from an expert. Part of the enjoyment of TW and Tacoma ownership is learning new items and gaining information from others' experience. If anyone has a question I'm also glad to help out. Just PM.

some of this, a little of that
this place can be rough on new guys and I have no idea why. If you see something that is really out of line use the report button so the mods will see it and can do their thing. Also like @Scooter62 said, use the ignore for those that you find annoying. Good luck and don't run out on us just yet.

I understand how things are, and how things go but sometimes, you know what I mean. Plus, I have read the manual, forgot most of it just like everything else now a days. It's like my other posting asking about wheels I ask if the specs I provided would fit my truck, then get sent to a spec site. Telling me the exact specs of the exact rim and I don't know what else. I know the exact specs work but I also know you can fudge one way or the other, just did'nt know if the specs I had would be to much fudging. Forgot to mention thanks for the hug.
