Ive not done a lot of winter wheeling. Can't in the mountains around here, WAY too much snow. Desert is hit and miss.

Worry about highway driving later. FWIW my truck was over 3k stock on the interstate, now its even higher than that. A little RPM never hurt anything.

 

I've heard the 5vz is fine with revs while the 1gr can get fussy over 2800.

 

Yea I sit at 3300ish for 70mph I think.

I made the hiring list for one of the full time positions I applied for. Hopefully I get a call sometime in the next 2 weeks. This is a New Mexico, Alaska, or arizona position. Hopefully the rest of the jobs start getting processed.

So you've applied to all these jobs. Are you going to take the first one or wait and see if you get one you want?

 

Ill accept the first position that offers a start date later than my graduation. If I get a better offer, I will have to call the first job up and let them know there was a better offer. This is either a full time or seasonal (location dependent), permanent position. So it's going to be hard to find a better position out of college for me. The only way it will be beat is if it's a recent graduate position that fast tracks me, or a similar position in a closer location to Wyoming.

Sounds like you need to sell that 2nd gen, buy a 1st gen, build the 1st gen, and then buy a better highway vehicle with the leftover funds and not worry about how a modified truck does at driving across the country.
