I think its okay, but I prefer android auto. They need to add apps like google maps and spotify, and allow the voice control button to control google now like it does for siri.

I really like the system. I haven't had any of the problems that you hear about. I always have my phone hooked up to bluetooth and I always have my iPod plugged in for music. I guess anything is an upgrade from the tape player I had in my 91 pickup. Haha. The only other modern system I've been exposed to is Nissan's, and it was absolutely horrid. Entune blows it away. So I'm very satisfied.

Personally, I really like the premium Entune unit that came standard on my TRD Off-Road. That doesn't mean I don't have a few issues though. I've only had the system continuously reboot once during a heavy rainstorm. The sound quality and loudness are very nice in my opinion and I only need to put it up to 40-42 to seriously rock out to some classic rock, metal, and lately, BabyMetal (don't judge me haha). The nav system works great so far. I use a Samsung Galaxy S3 with the Bluetooth and I get music and phone functionality but sadly, no messaging or e-mail. Not sure why. Maybe my phone model is too old. The biggest quirk I have is that I can find no other option on changing the HD radio channel other than manually pressing on the alternate HD channel list on the touchscreen. It's a pain to do while driving because the alternate HD station channel buttons are very small and I don't like having to concentrate that hard on pushing that tiny icon while driving.

After applying the latest Entune firmware and apps, unit hasn't locked up. Sound and nav are just okay, haven't tried the voice feature, always been a waste of time.

I had a pioneer 4200nex in my prev vehicle and I'm really missing android auto, not to mention sound quality. Perhaps Toyota could add android auto/car play feature in a later FW update? I've resigned myself to using google maps on my phone for navigation.

Mine use to reboot at least twice a drive, took it to the dealer and they replaced it. Ever since they replaced it there were no more reboots.

I'm a member of BabyMetal Anonymous too!
They sound MUCH better with the OEM Audio+ system I just got a few days ago though!

The Scout GPS app is terrible! It has never given me directions that would actually get me to my destination, and it wasn't able to find a road I was on in downtown Houston! I don't use it anymore. I just use Google Maps on Bluetooth while I rock out to BabyMetal. Other than that, I haven't had any problems. It always links to my iPhone 6+ via Bluetooth.

I got the basic one with no nav. Works just fine. pairing multiple phones to Bluetooth is a lot easier to change than my old Alpine Unit in my bimmer.

Extremely disappointed with the NAV. Takes 10 minutes to find a destination and start a trip. Want to be able to do it on the fly. Often it won't even allow me to search for an address or destination sometimes. I don't know if it's entune blocking it, but google maps navigation stopped working on my phone also.

While driving and listening to Pandora, I can only scroll through about 2 screens of stations. The reason given is for safety.

I cannot dictate a text message (in motion or not - it makes no difference) nor reply to a text message with dictation. My only option is a list of pre-set responses. Dealership says that speech to text doesn't work with android phones. Uh, you designed a system incompatible with one of the most popular phone platforms?

Navigation. Don't really know where to start. No route change on the fly, counterintuitive search, it's definitely not Google Maps.

I have to back out of an app in order to get the full range of voice options. If I'm in an app the only voice options available are for that app.

They can take Slacker (never. heard. of. it.), Meal Res., Movie Tix, and others that no one uses and allow me the option to add my own.

They have taken my smartphone's functionality and cut it in half.

the sound is decent... I'm surprised but will be replacing some bits with some high end stuff i already own such as speakers... not sure my subs, amps, and capacitor are usable in this case.

but my android phone is rooted and that makes for a pretty poor connection experience with entune, so i leave it disconnected and just use the audio incl sat radio on entune. no integration for me.

As for the OP's comment about Nav... I hate Toyota navigation! It gives me the dumbest routes to take. I choose the shortest, it gives me the fastest. Go back and select shortest again, still doesn't. I take the shortest anyway and it keeps trying to redirect me - until I'm halfway there and finally gives me the route I want.

I haven't even used or set up Entune.

I just pair my bluetooth and go from there. I haven't messed with the app or anything "Entune" specific. Unless I can get Waze as an app I dont see much use in giving my car that amount of connectivity.
