Ah, I see. Sounds like it probably did a fantastic job. The only thing is...I'm cheap.

So for this reason here:

I will probably abstain from POR15.

Thinking something like 2 cans of self etcher + 3 of bedliner...or something like that. Might not do bedliner and go with just a hard paint, like the hammered stuff that was mentioned. Not sure.

 

I also scuff sanded last coat of POR for better adhesion.... I work in the coatings industry so I might have been more anal than necessary lol

 

POR 15 always needs a topcoat. It's not UV stabilized and can't handle abrasion well. Probably why @V5ioV suggests a topcoat of rustoleum.

 

Oh, that makes sense. If I had more disposable funds, I'd POR15 the shit out of most of my truck, but I've opted for cheaper products thus far, and I can't rightfully complain.

 

I did my sliders with POR-15 and a rattle can topcoat. Worked fine, but I've beat up and abraded my sliders so much, that the POR15 probably will have little effect over time. I just rattle can after every wheeling trip.

With my new BFF bumpers, I used the self-etching primer from HD and Krylon satin black rattle can stuff. It was on sale at Wally World for 2 bucks ea. Bought the whole entire stock of 4 cases.

 

Yeah I plan on buying cases when I see it on sale. I do the same with oil at work when it's on sale. $26.99 for 6 quarts of Mobil 1. Best price I personally see.

I figured I'd touch up after each wheeling trip as well. Takes no time and keeps them protected.

 

So do my wife and I. She had an Indian employee who was so happy I/we appreciated her food she would bring us homemade stuff all the time.

I believe at the end of 1st one they were still wet bandits as the cops were basically saying that they were going to pin all the home break-ins where they flooded the houses
