temp gauge not working in my 01 tacoma..help!

    so my temp gauge doesnt work at all in my tacoma. the needle hangs at the bottom and never moves. I've changed out the thermostat, and checked all the fuses..nothing..what else could it be?

    wheels, tires, sound system, hid headlights, 1st gen fog light mod, tinted tails hella 500s on custom light bar, dust light, led white guages/dash lights, color matched grille, exhuast, blacked bumper and accents....
    same here with my 00 its hanging at the bottom sometimes i tap on the glass and it pops back up for a while tho so give that a try but its for sure not a permanent solution

    Got the answer. Just fixed this a couple of weeks ago. Its your Electronic Coolant Sender. Mine was at the back of my engine dead center about 6 to 8 inches down. I accidentally unplugged it when I replaced my valve cover gaskets. My truck was also putting out a little more smoke with it disconnected. ECT Sender. I'd bet money on it. I've got the 3.4L v6 by the way. Oh and if I needs to be replaced It was about 28 bucks from Toyota. I had replaced the thermostat as well before fixing this problem.
