    Why spend more then you have to for a battery? Just get one with a good warranty. Interstate, Sears, Napa, hell I've even had good luck with AutoZone batteries.

    Interstate is decent for an AGM, Sears no longer gets their AGM batteries from Odyssey so it's meh. Haven't played with Napa AGMs before and I don't know who provides them. AutoZone are flooded plate as are most options from Interstate and Sears and thus suffer the side effects of being liquid filled, such as freezing in harsh temperatures, poor CCA output after the first year of use and in cold weather and less ability to be deep cycled (important for those with winches and that leave their trucks alone for a while at a time)

    To get one that lasts longer? I live in the desert where batteries don't last 3 years. The best battery autozone sells doesn't last me more than 2.5 years and it's $150. Optima batteries aren't much more and if they last longer than why not?

    Batteries Plus sells Northstar AGM rebranded as X2Power. They are a dual purpose deep cycle / starting battery with a 5 year warrantee, and a $30 rebate right now. 27F has 930 CCA

    Bloody hell thats an expensive battery :eek:

    They have a store about an hour away. 5 year replacement sounds good though.

    Weight reduction. My OEM battery was 50 lb. My Optima Red Top weighs 32 lb and still puts out 720 CCA.

    In my part of the country and in my experience batteries seem to last about 6-7 years. That is just a regular old box store 2 to 3 year warrantied battery. Will these high dollar batteries outlast that?? I am skeptical of these expensive batteries providing any type of value to me. Just changed the battery in our corolla yesterday, it was dated 09.

    Last 2 I got for my old car from autozone had 3 yr warranty's. First one died the day before the warranty expired. They replaced it under warranty. I felt very lucky it died when it did and not a day or two later. Second one is still in the car maybe 1-2 years now, which I wont have much longer. Been needing to put it up for sale for a few months now...

    Wow 1 day? Sounds like the perfect scenario. Exactly why something with a good warranty works for me. If I had a bunch of accessories or I ran my battery down regularly I would probably look into a deep cycle, but factory replacements work for me for now
