i agree... this year's "***" of the year threads have turned to shit.

i don't know about previous wins or not but jberry's avatar is still by far one of the most apropos - at least to the online persona so it has my vote (and no that doesn't mean i'm a fan boy)

TBH, my biggest disappointment is all the Crom bashing going on. i realize his build is not a big, fancy high $$ as some others up for nomination. bayreataco's build is awesome, i'm not a crawler/SAS guy but if i was it would have my vote. my own tastes tend toward the high spirited driving so jberry's build is much more to my taste (again - not a fan boy).

but if there was a vote for the best "EveryMan Build" Crom would be it, hands down. His build thread is meticulous, well thought out and very useful to average guys like me. he does a lot of research and gets some really cool stuff done on a budget, which benefits many people. he is also one of the most decent guys in this forum who will always go out of his way to answer (often stupid) questions and help people wherever he can.

so that being said if his build/build thread is not to your taste that's ok... don't vote for it. but how about giving it a rest huh? quit digging at him, it's not mahalotaco or skygear or defconbrix, its a decent upstanding TW member who has contributed a hell of a lot over the years, so let's maintain some of our community spirit shall we?

anyway, i'll get off the soapbox now and finish my wine before i head over to the container store
