CB Antenna location?

I just purchased a cobra ltd 29 cb radio. I want to mount a 3-4 foot fire stik in the bed of my 01 tacoma. I cant find a mount for the bed that doesnt require me drilln into the bed. ideas or suggeetions? thanx

 

Check out Alientx and Silverback07. they have non hole drilling methods im pretty sure

 

yea i like how they mounted it, but i dont think they make that bed rail for 1st gen. tacomas

Walcott CB has a couple bolt on brackets that dont require drilling...

There is a bracket that clamps onto the bed rails and one for the rear bumper...

My truck is all cut up and drilled out so can't say what the part numbers are...

I run a CB and a dual band ham radio in my Tacoma. I have always loved my trucks too much to drill on them. I used the tie down brackets located in the front of the bed for my mount. They are bolted to the bed with very sturdy bolts so you don't have to worry about them coming loose. What I did was make my cb mount out of a old fire extinguisher bracket. I cut up the bracket so that I had only a L shaped bracket that was a little longer on one end than the other. I slid this under the tie down bracket and marked and drilled the holes in the new bracket. I then gave it a coat of paint and after drying I slid it in behind the tie down and tightened it back up. I now had a sturdy antenna bracket that mounted just inside the bed and also kept the tie down so I could use it if I needed to. NOW..... I have a tool box and I have all my antennas mounted to it. If it wasn't for that I would post some pics.....hope this helps.

How do you ground the antenna if you mount it in the side of the bed?

 

Well my 02 Tacoma has an all metal bed so the bolts holding the cargo tabs to the bed make a great ground. As far as the second gen. Tacomas I am guessing you would have to run a ground wire to the metal chassis in order to ground it. Seems like the cargo rail system would be mounted through the plastic bed into the chassis but I could be wrong on that.
