anyone know of a way to change the number of blinks in the turn gignal for lane change from 3 to say 5 or 7?
I came across a way to do it in Lexus vehicles but it doesn't seem to work in the tacos

Nope! That's why the Lexus cost more. You are paying for more blinks.

It's not a new concept and you might find it rather difficult, but you could just turn it on, then back off after making a lane change?

The lane change blinks. Just a tap on the blinker switch, default gives 3 blinks, then off.

    Yup
I could just turn it on then off, but the soft touch option is there and a few more blinks would be terrrrrrrrrrific. I'll add this to the list when I bring the truck in for its first service

Can I pay the fee change what I want then no longer have to pay the fee til I want/need to use it again?

When I took mine in for the 5k service and the Rev 1 tranny TSB, I asked to have the turn signal set to 6 blinks. The service advisor said it wojuld be a $25 charge. I replied I'd heard it would be done free at the first service. He said "who told you that, the salesman?". Before I could reply another service advisor nearby said there would be no charge since they would be hooking up the TechStream computer anyway to do the TSB. If you're getting the blinker changed for the first time, insist it be done free. Remind them you'd like to give them a perfect score when you get the Toyota survey.

I hate anything more than 1. Is one flash possible? In CA we do the bro signal, which is one flash, anything more is just embarrassing.
