    Little bit of stuff.
    06 4.0, MT, 3" lift, 33x12.50 mudders and I'm getting 15-17 unless I really beat on her.

Thanks a lot masshole... Just kidding... In all honesty I really believe it's a computer thing... They did the Trans tsb and it seemed to get great mileage for 2 days... And I hadn't heard about the oil change yet, might give that a try

I'm just a big proponent to a break in oil change (or 2).

The biggest drop I've seen is attributed to, in my humble opinion, either:

    A. Transmission updates (2 so far) or...

    B. Winter formula gas

From about 25 mpg (Summer-Fall time) to 22 mpg the last couple of months

That's a possibility as well, the winter blend fuel...and I'm also a fan of break in oil change, I always do it with my toys, I just didn't think about my daily driver I guess

Got about 19-20 on each tank before I lifted it. After Kings 3 inch lift and 285/75/16 E BFG KO2s, the worst in getting in the city is about 16-17. Really surprised that I didn't drop too much. And I haven't even recalibrated my speedometer or odometer for my bigger tires, so I'm getting a little better than what my screen reads

You might want to get it checked. I'm 400 miles in my first tank was 20mpg and now on my second tank and it's 21.2mpg.

The highway drive cycle used to evaluate fuel economy averages like 50MPH an never gets above 60. Driving over 60, you aren't going to see the advertised mpg. Trucks usually have a steep drop off on mpg due to poor aero.

Anyway, when I see people driving 70 to 85 mph and asking if something is wrong....well yeah. The hwy mpg rating doesn't match your hwy driving style! To be fair, I think the EPA test is misleading....who could average 50 mph on the hwy? That like the minimal speed limit on most interstates!

I get what you're saying... Just not sure what to do about it... I understand the aero issue, it's about as aerodynamic as a brick... I'm not trying to start crap, but the full size GMC I traded in got better mileage at the same speed, and it's a much bigger engine and vehicle obviously... If I get a slow late night on the way home from work I'll try to set the cruise at 60 just to see where it's at... But it's. A moot point, with a 75 mph speed limit here

Started running E15 (88 octane vs E10 at 87 octane). Improved ~0.5mpg and paid $0.10 cheaper/gallon than the E10/87 octane. Pretty sweet if it's available to you.

Gm seems to put out some of the most fuel efficient half tons. Part of it could be the cylinder deactivation. However, they also seem to be very low to the ground and have very low front air dams. The taco has a pretty high front end with a very good approach angle.

The offroad has no air dam and A/T tires I believe. You might try picking up an air dam from the market place and going with LRR tires? Might also try locking it in to a lower gear just to see if the engine is more efficient with a few more rpms and less throttle. Counterintuitive, but at very low rpms, some engines fall out of thier peak efficiency zones. Seems the AT is geared very high. Many popular mods are mpg hitters too...

The cruise KILLS my MPG on northeast Texas highways. Also, try switching into sport mode 6 once at speed. Should bump your mpg up a couple.

It's got a cop motor, a 440-cubic-inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas.
    9.7mpg doing 74 on interstate

Typically average 19.2-19.8 for the tank with a mix of city and highway.

Seems very wrong, have you done your own calculation? Tires are at the proper PSI? Brakes aren't dragging?

With cruise set at the same speed and nearly the same RPM in my 2010 Frontier 4.0L Pro-4x 6spd I see 18.6 - 18.9mpg. That particular stretch of parkway is around 120 miles in length with rolling hills the entire way. My truck is bone stock, to be fair it does have full synthetics and a subtle air dam. On the other hand it has 265/75R16 Hankook ATMs and is heavier than a Tacoma.

I've calculated it out, and it's pretty damn close to what's shown... Brakes are good, tires are probably a bit over inflated... I'm heading to another dealer tomorrow to see what they say

I was getting 23.5(ish) per tank with mixed driving. With lift and c rated 275 17s, I'm getting 20.5. Both are still better than my 06 G35 that sucked the expensive stuff.

Same for me in my 2.7 SR.

I was traveling for work in early December, then immediately after I got back I put a cap on and a new wheel/tire package. It also got much colder in the time I was gone. Since then, 22.5mpg is the best I can do (26 being my all time best in the fall).

I won't be convinced it's seasonal variables affecting me until I can do better. Ha, poor timing on my part.

18 mpg......Have never seen the 23 mpg highway from the window sticker. Did have a 21.7 mpg fill up once while having a tail wind. Traveled between Dallas and Austin Tx. last week and averaged 19.2 on the way South to Austin and 14.3 on the way back to Dallas into the wind at 70-75 mph. Its a truck.... if I wanted great MPG'S id drive a small car.
