Have you replaced the fuse with a new one? If not do so as age/vibration can cause microscopic fractures that can make them flaky--it's not common for this to happen without the fuse failing completely, however it's common enough that for the cost of a fuse it's worth a try...

I replaced the 30a , 10a, and ecu 7.5a and still works when it wants to! Seems like the 30a is the problem but its so random im thinking is a relay/sending unit failer!

I just replaced my 2007 head unit yesterday with an upgrade. It works fine and I'd be willing to part with the old one cheap if you're interested. Send me a PM.

The next simple thing to try would be to disconnect and reconnect the plugs on the radio--sometimes this will cleanup connections that have gone flaky over the years...

Thanks no thanks! It works if you read the other posts! And yes these trucks arent what thry used to be! Love it but ive got 300,000 miles outts my old trucks and this 2007 has 90,000 hard miles and reqs new leafs, alternator, front suspension, rears already been chsnged so now im doing firestone ride rite air bags, and this radio bullshit that seems to just be a moisture/cold problem! Unreal!

Sell it and buy something else. They have great resale take advantage of it. No possession is worth as much stress as that is causing you.

No stress at all. I beat the shit out of it and it keeps going. Its just junk compared to the 90s. What would i buy? A new one thats even cheaper made? Not interested in the 3.5! A chevy or ford? No thanks unless its a duramax but thats about 40gs i dont have!

Yup good point. There isn't really anything sold in America that would take the beating the Japanese vehicles of the 90s could take.

So at the end of the day my radio problem was from moisture in the cab! Thats the only thing i can relate it too! I live in winnipeg and we had a crazy cold snap. One day i decided to park the truck inside a garage at work and i even left the windows down. I guess it was soo cold inside the truck that it produced moisture behind the stereo and it triggered a relay inside the cab behind the deck! Im thinking all those hairline cracks in fuses probably had the same issue but it just needed a long ride with lots of dey heat!
