I'm not running any spacers, you can hardly notice 3/4 track width difference. You really have to look. Yikes on the RC lift. Just sayin.

What's so bad about RC lifts? Seems like a lot of people dislike them.

I personally can't say I have any experience with them however it is a drop down kit. Drop down kits just space things out with a bunch of brackets and spacers. You actually can loose ground clearance because everything gets dropped. Some guys say no problems. The maxtracs keep everything at stock angles. The only difference is the track width, which can also be increased with a drop down kit. With the maxtracs you have a ton of options if you later want to beef up your front suspension.

Very valid point! That's actually something I hadn't really thought a lot about. I'm now starting to lean more and more towards spacers. My only worry with the maxtrac kit, is that I am still running 16" wheels, so I will need to run spacers. However, I have heard lots of horror stories about spacers. I don't want a wheel to go flying off at 70 + mph. I was considering looking for steel spacers, to try mitigating this possibility. Thoughts?

If you are running stock 16" wheels then you will need spacers. If they are 16" aftermarket they may fit if you have a backspace of 4.5. If you run a spidertrax or allpro spacer you should be fine. They typically use Loctite on the studs.

Thanks man. Are their machined from billet? I've heard billet is always the way to go, rather than cast.

They are cast. Make sure you rattle can them good before install. As far as strength, I know 2 local TW members (buddies of mine) that absolutely hammer it off-road that have them. Check out @Airdog build thread or hit up @Yotamac. They can attest to the strength. I just putt down fireroads and camp trails. Lol.

@SpruceTaco Just wanted to say I first saw your sick tacoma via Whitehorse's youtube channel a while back before I even got into the truck game

I have some noob questions for you guys running Maxtracs, tried researching but not a lot of info like everyone else says for the 3rd gen, so my current set up right now is Bilstein 6112s with camburg ball joint UCA up front, 5100s non extended length in the rear.... If I wanted to run the 4'' spindles, what else would to need to make it leveled besides the obvious new pair of extended length 5100s for the rear, I don't mind the rear being a tad bit lower, also, would I need to do a re-gear? thanks in advance guys

Haha a lot of people see my truck in @White Horse videos.
2nd & 3rd gens are basically the same suspension wise. What is your front set at & what kind of rear lift if any do you have? Do you just want the 4" from the spindles or add it to what you have?

my front is set at the highest notch possible, I believe it is about 2.5 inches of lift, the rear, stock height, all I had done was replace the stock hitachis with 5100s non extended. From what the truck shop told me, I can put on the maxtracs to get the 4 inches, and put the 6112s on the zero notch, as for the rear, I'm still confused on which path to take for that. I do however have set of new Icon progressive multi leaf packs sitting in my garage but not sure if that would even make it somewhat leveled say if I put the 4 inch spindles on.

Yes you can definitely set you shocks back to 0 & keep it a 4" with just the spindles. If you look at @TacoTimmy7414 post on the 1st page his is just Maxtracs with 5100's at 0 on front & Dakars (IIRC) in the rear for 3".
I would say with just 4" from the Maxtracs you'll need 2-3" in the rear, I'm not sure how much your Icons provide.

Got started on mine today. Spindles are in. Bilstein 5100's and Rough Country 2" spacer up top. Trying to feel out where the front will sit once settled and then swap the spacer for a OME coil. 4 " rear blocks for now as well. Everything from Headstrong Off road except the Rough Country spacer. Moto Metal 970's 20x10 with Nitto Terra Grappler G2 305/55/20 fitted. Sorry for the white saturation.

Finished up today. Alignment tomorrow. It has the bro lean going on. Thinking a Deaver AAL for the rear to level it out.

@blainef dude this thing is sweet!! I might take this route! Are you having any issues running this setup with the stock UCA's?? That's probably my biggest concern right now. I have a RC 2" spacer currently on now but looking at the 4" spindles. If I can get a 6" lift with that and the spacer I'd be freakin excited!

If you don't mind me asking, what all did you need to achieve this? I want to make sure to order the right stuff as far as the right length of break lines and all that.

Also, what did you decide to do about the 4" block and the AAL?

With the spacer you will get 6 inches up front and I'm sure a 4 inch rear should put you about even.

Well he's got 6 up front and 4 in the rear and he's saying that it's got a lean going on. I wouldn't care for the lean either so I'm wondering if the 4 inch block and single AAL would bring up to or close to 6 in the rear as well to level it out

I would swap that 4" block for Dakars.

Thats how I set my kit up.

Also swapped the Maxtrac rear shocks for RCD Extended Length Bilstiens

    Rides WAAAAAAAY better than stock

Do the Maxtrac rear shocks top out on bumps? or are they about the same as the extended length bilsteins?
