Now THAT would be super cool to watch. Pretty far South to see a Fisher on the East Coast too! Used to be only saw them in Maine or once in a great while in the Adirondacks or up by the St. Lawrence locks in NY. They are moving South here too.

Yeah fluted bolt would fit that puppy perfectly. I also like fluted barrels on anything heavier than a sporting barrel.

I got this last year. Still tuning it in. Going to squeeze off a few today. I'd really like to change to a wood stock. There's plenty of places to get stock blanks, just gotta get into that groove. Lots of other projects in line first.

Good afternoon everyone, and Merry Christmas! Since my wife is sick, and we pushed the family get-together until next weekend, I spent most of the morning getting the new light bar all wired up. Day time pics...
    Switches:

And all lights on (for reference, high beams are on) I'll get some night time pics tonight.

I'm thinking about a nice walnut, maybe something bird's-eye. Something you can get warm and cozy with that has a nice deep grain yet sparkles better than a Vegas stripper.

I love Walnut, any flavor. Feather Crotch Burl, birds eye or fiddle back.

The changing pattern of fiddle back sparkles like a Vegas stripper :)

I'm stuffed too first time doing braised anything. The critics all gave glowing reviews, hey the dogs got the scrap fat and seemed happy so I'm counting them in too!

Rain kept up all day and temps never got over 31 ice everywhere what a mess. Dug in the snow to drain Lake Erie where it flows down my driveway in front of my garage.

Saw a pileated woodpecker out the sliding glass door so grabbed the camera and jacket. By the time I got out there it was gone. Stood there for awhile and a flock of robins came by. Never have seen a robin in December here, ever. Not sure what happened or why but there were about 20 of them around for almost an hour. Strange but welcome sight this time of year. Crazy.

While I was standing out there in the rain and cold under the deck was rewarded with another buck. This young guy will grow up to be a dandy as soon as this coming year.

One of my favorites growing up was the Savage model 24C. We had 2 plus other variations in .22 mag , 30-30 and .223. I haven't kept up very well with what's out there anymore. I knew I wanted a .308 to get back into hunting again for this terrain (the desert is pretty open country) and this rifle really caught my eye. I was plunking golfballs at between 75 and 125 yards today with it. It's alot of fun.
