I have a BakFlip G2. Sits pretty flush with the bed. This is my second BakFlip cover (first was on my Chevy). I got it for $773 shipped.

Sorry, this is the only good picture I have of the cover on my truck.

I also have the BakFlip G2. I got it on sale at Lordco here in Vancouver B.C. for $900 after taxes. Without the sale they were asking $1500 as were most local suppliers.

I was pretty set on the Bakflip and then I started reading about the Fold-a-Cover. I think you can't go wrong with either of them to be honest. Foldacover made a comparison video between the two. Their idea that the back window being covered is "unsafe" is sort of a weak argument (I mean it is but having the full bed accessible would be nice at times) but it's a good watch.

From a recommendation of @OhioTaco68, I checked on Access tonneaus, and ended up purchasing the Access Vanish for $270 shipped from Realtruck.com on Black Friday. I know that doesn't help now, but a reference price of what they're willing to do can't hurt. (Best example pic of the low profile I have. Good quality cover)

Technically for the money building one would prolly be your best bet. :stirthepot:

    image (4).jpg

But jokes aside I belive you'd be happy with any of them really. Though I prefer the trifold that sit flush with the bed and lock. Patience and trolling the buy/sell page you'll likely find one at a great price.

Finished installation of my Access Vanish tonneau cover including painting the brackets matte black to better blend into the bed. Cost was $273 shipped. Realtruck pricematched Amazon.

Just rained and only a single drop of water under one of the rails. Didn't look like anything got in near the cab or tailgate. Super happy with this cover! Doesn't leak (so far), sits almost flush (1/2" above rails), and pretty seamless to operate. Was a little bit of a pain to install with subpar instructions.

I will be ordering the Access Lorado cover for mine. Had it on my F150 with zero leaks for 3 years. I'd order the Vanish 1/2" above rails model but I actually need that extra .5" or so to fit a 20" high piece of equipment I carry around with me and our beds are a shallow 19".

No problems so far, other than some minor leakage, but it has never got warm enough yet since the installation, for the seals to flatten out. When the weather warms up, I suspect the seals will flatten out, or I will take a heat gun to them. Some minor issues opening the cover in freezing rain conditions, but I suspect all covers will suffer from the same issue.

Quality seems good, and I like the fact the the factory side rails are 100% available to be used. No panel fold seams across the top to leak, and it's nice to see out the back window when the top is fully open.

Thanks so much for the feedback. I've had this cover on my upgrade list. How do you feel it is security wise? I understand no top is totally secure.

I think it is better than most security wise, since the spring loaded side rail (on bed wall) interlocks with the cover along the entire length, not like some trifold covers that only interlock in about 3 places per side. I suspect (but cannot confirm) that it is harder to jimmy it open than a trifold. More secure, and better built than an Undercover Flex I had on an F150.

Bak, Undercover, Retrax, Extang, Truxedo (and who knows what other brands) are all owned by the same parent company, so I am not sure that any of these brands is miles better than another. My 10 cents.

I'm thinking about an Access Lorado for my 2017 Tacoma and I am wondering about whether I can still use my factory rails & tiedowns after installing that. Sounds like the answer is "mostly"?
