Rotella 6 synthetic, replaced every 15K miles or once a year ( for the past 6 years/70K miles), usually bought on sale @ Wally World or Autozone/Advance auto.

Valvoline syn power is awesome stuff, same with the maxlife syn blend. Not 1 ounce of sludge in my engine for 175000 miles! Cheap at walmart to!

Castrol 5/30 synthetic since the first day I owned it. Currently about 150 I bought at 25k. Change every 5k.

Buy whichever oil has the fanciest graphics on the bottle.

I had my oil analyzed in both the Taco and my 96 Miata. The Rotella was at still above 74% efficiency, after 15K miles. Anyone that does not have a turbo/supercharged engine, and is replacing synthetic oil @ less than 10K miles intervals, is just waisting money.

I care about my vehicles engines, and about the environment. Synthetic oil is made out of renewable resources, whereas dino oil, comes out of an oil well.

How many times do you change your oil filter within the 15,000 mile OCI?

I'm about to do the first oil change since I became owner of the truck. It's been running conventional oil all its life. The Pepboys sticker says it uses 5W30.

I'm thinking of switching over to synthetic, any suggestions?

Mileage is around 80,000 - and I plan to use it till the damn engine block falls out or the frame rusts into Swiss cheese (which will probably never happen, caus California lol).

The oil honestly doesn't matter as long as you change it regularly. I usually end up with penzoil, but it really doesn't matter. Go with the weight recommended in your manual.

Just go to autozone, walmart or whatever, and get the stuff that fits your budget. Hell, the store brand is probably fine, too. Just change it regularly.

I replace the oil, and the oil filter once a year, or every 15K miles. Again, I do it in both of my vehicles. For performance reasons, I replaced the head (along with the intake and intake cam) in the Miata. When the factory head was removed, it was CLEAN, and it still had the factory marks in the head.

Indeed, especially since several oil brands (e.g. Shell, Pennzoil, Quaker State) are made by the same company.

I'm a big believer in full synthetic. Change it between 4k and 5k miles. My last truck and wife's car we put over 150k on each and they never smoke, drip or knock. Use a synthetic oil filter.

People getting rid off synthetic oil in 4K or 5K mile intervals, in a N/A engine, what a waste!

I use mobile1 synthetic I have used it since 1982. It makes a difference in engine longevity. I've had 2 cars I put over 400.000 miles on without replacing an engine. I just put 6 quarts in my diesel toyota. The cost for the 6 quarts is........ please put food and drinks down so you don't choke or spill something. $91.00 us dollars yes I can get cheaper synthetic but IMHO it's not worth it.

There is price and cost in everything.

Completely Stock except for Ranch 5000 Shocks and Struts.
We have a 1999 Tacoma with the 3.4 V6, and it has 166,000 miles. We use Castrol Full Synthetic 5W-30 with the top end FRAM oil filter, and we change the oil every 6,000.00 miles. This particular rig has been on this formula since the rig has had 90,000 miles, and it runs just like it was brand new. Amsoil full synthetic motor oil is also great from what have I read.

I use the Amsoil Signature full synthetic in my 2.7. Just had an analysis done after 7500 miles. They said I could go another 2000 because the TBN was still at 4. Don't know if I will but 7500 miles leaves me a good safety zone. They also said that most of the 2.7's they test are with intervals less than 6700 miles.

This is 2016, not 1955. Regardless of what grand daddy said about Pennzoil and wax, I suggest you research the issue before you spread this type of "information."
