    Hello TW,

While it may not warrant its own thread I wanted to ask for you to keep my girlfriend's family in your thoughts and prayers as her grandmother is losing her battle with cancer tonight. I've found myself at a loss for words as I try to help her through this and have run out of ways to help.

The Christmas season is typically the time for new beginnings and is also a reminder of the importance of family. At this point we are all hoping that she passes peacefully and will no longer be in pain. Any well wishes will be appreciated.

Currently going through the same situation with my father. It's a strange feeling, wanting to have more time with them, and also knowing that there's nothing else that can be done and knowing that the sooner it comes, the sooner their pain stops.

Best wishes and deepest sympathies for your girlfriend and her family.

@jbmccul praying for you and your gf's family. It is so hard to go through. My wife's best friend passed 6yrs ago from a long battle with breast cancer, she was only 41. I have been through all 4 of my grandparents deaths and found this one to be the hardest of them all .. i think because she was so young and also because i knew how much she meant to my wife.
Your gf will need you during this difficult time, the only thing you can do is just be there for her and grieve along her side. It's an emotional time and reminds us that death is inevitable and that we should live life to it's fullest
I am saying a prayer for you & gf today

Been through this tho not during the Christmas season. My thoughts and prayers go out to you.

Like others have said, you don't need a lot of words, just being there for support. You can also help with the little tasks so her family can spend time with her.
